Hi!
Just wanted to check about the Happy Go Lucky sew along. Do I need to register or anything, or just tune in to your channel on Thursday?

Hi Sherri, Chelsie and Billy
I have heard you talk about irons, but you always make reference to using water in them. When I started quilting after having been primarily a garment sewer, I was taught to use a dry iron, and so that’s what I’ve done. I worry that steam will stretch the fabric, but if I encounter a stubborn wrinkle ir fold I use a little spray bottle to steam that spot. I’m wondering if I’m the odd one when it comes to steam in quilting.

Hope Chelsi is feeling better! Can you please talk about the beautiful pineapple quilt that is behind Billy in today’s episode?

When I try to connect using the rectangular red box below the verbiage on the blog, nothing happens. I must return to the top and click on the title.

I dry iron also to save my iron. I always used distilled water but it seemed to clog up and spit dirty water ony beautiful fabric. I got tired of it! When I bought a new iron, I swore off water. I use a spray bottle to press out stubborn wrinkles. Problem solved. I also worried about steam stretching my pieces.

Hi Sherri,
You had asked for opinions on pdf vs paper patterns and I have to say that I absolutely prefer a paper pattern and here is why: the print quality is so much better and the layout is in a smaller area on the page, which makes it easier for me to keep my place when reading the pattern instead of a full sized sheet of information. I keep my patterns in a small 3 ring photo binder and purchase the matching sized sheet protectors to place them in as well. The few times I purchase the pdfs are when I simply cannot wait to start the project and “need it now” (using my best Varuka voice from Willy Wonka).
Heres hoping Chelsi is recovering nicely from kidney stones (my brother just had surgery on his recently). Thank you for your tireless posts and videos. They are much appreciated and very informative.

I’m a pdf girl.
Living in Australia the currency exchange and postage is prohibitive.
PDF patterns let me access pattern from all over the world cheaply and instantly.
