Hello, friends! Today I’m super happy to be able to share the A Quilting Life Block of the Month April 2025 block. This month’s center block is a friendship star, and you can make it as scrappy as you’d like! You’ll also want to watch this month’s video because you can get some additional details on the setting. I’ve got my first row sewn together and am really loving the progress. Keep reading for more and to download the free PDF pattern for this month.

A Quilting Life Block of the Month April 2025
April Block Details
I love a good friendship star, and I showed a couple of options for you with my two versions. For the center of my April log cabin block I used three different fabrics and alternated star point prints. For my other block that I’ll use in my table runner I used just two fabrics: one for the star center and one for the star points. I love both options!
April Block Video
Watch this month’s block video above or watch it on our YouTube channel. If you are wanting to get a head start on quilt assembly, you’ll definitely want to get the details for that which I share in the video.

I’ve been waiting to start another log cabin quilt. I saw your block for this month and THIS is what I will use to make the next quilt. LOVE IT! Thanks so much for all your hard work in putting together these blocks every month for all of us. I save every single one and will really enjoy using this one, in particular. Thanks again!

This is a 6″ block. How do I print the 12’block like the three previous ones were?
sherri McConnell says
This month I’m sharing 6″ block centers. They go inside log cabin strips making an 18″ block. Those log cabin directions are with the January pattern.
Kendra Kindred says
My first block came out as 16 in block. I’ve done it twice. I followed the directions to a T.
sherri McConnell says
Have you measured your seam allowances to make sure they are at 1/4″?
the directions are correct 🙂
