Hello, friends! Today I’m sharing the Saturday Seven 384: Lifestyle & More for Quilters. My Saturday posts feature a fun roundup of inspiration I’ve found from around the internet earlier this week. I hope you’ll find some ideas for your weekend and the week ahead.
I just started working on some Grandmother’s Flower Garden blocks earlier this week and hope to get several finished this weekend. I’ll be sharing soon as I have a couple of projects in mind for them! I’m also doing a little cleaning and hoping to get outside for a walk 🙂

Saturday Seven 384: Lifestyle & More for Quilters
1. Self-Care
I really enjoyed the helpful ideas in “5 Habits of Successful Creatives.” And here is a list of small things that contribute to “the happy life.” Both of the books in today’s book recommendations section also have great ideas for self-care!
2. Recipes to Try
I’m planning to make this Sour Cream Banana Bread this weekend. I have a bunch of bananas in the freezer I need to use. And I can’t wait to try these Easy Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars–I’m hoping they will freeze well, too, so I can keep them on hand for visitors. I’m also going to try this Pasta Chopped Salad which is definitely healthier than my first two suggestions!
3. Quilt + Sew
The Fat Quarter Shop 2025 Charity Sew and Stitch Along is coming soon! Find all of the details about the Stardust projects here. Plus, Fat Quarter Shop also just shared this free Jelly Roll Pattern: Jelly Roll Cabin.
4. Book & Podcast Recommendations
I had some extra time to read this week and have two wonderful books to tell you about. First, I finished up The 5 Types of Wealth by Sahil Bloom. I learned so much about myself from studying about each of the five categories: Time, Mental, Health, Social, and Financial–plus, there are tons of practical ideas and suggestions, and it was easy to read. (Also, this just released in February and was an instant New York Times Bestseller). I’ve read just a few chapters from Tiny Experiments: How to Live Freely in a Goal-Obsessed World by Anne-Laure Le Cunff and am already feeling like I’ve learned a ton. I actually think I might finish it this weekend!
5. Harbor Quilt Sew Along Month 2
On Thursday I shared the next video for our Harbor Sew Along. There are lots of details for the next couple of month’s blocks, too. Watch the video above, or watch it on our YouTube channel.
6. March Sew Sampler Box
The March Sew Sampler box arrived recently from Fat Quarter Shop, and it’s a good one. Included are beautiful spring fabrics by Sandy Gervais for Riley Blake, some terrific notions, and the finishing pattern for the last year’s blocks:
- March Sew Sampler Box (a la carte–without a subscription)
- Waterfall New Beginnings Petite Fat Quarter Bundle
- Olfa Endurance 45 mm Rotary Blade (my favorite–they really do last longer!)
- Iron Cleaner
- Pink Mini Vacuum–can’t wait to use it!
- Pieceful Baskets Finishing Pattern (Next month a block for a new project will be shared)
