Hello, friends and Happy 4th of July and Happy 250th Birthday to the United States. Today I’m sharing the Saturday Seven 449: Lifestyle & More for Quilters with a roundup of inspiration from around the internet this week. I hope you’ll find some ideas to inspire your weekend and the week ahead.
We have family in town, so I’ll be doing a bit of cooking, visiting, and relaxing! I hope you also have an enjoyable weekend planned!

Saturday Seven 449: Lifestyle & More for Quilters
1. Self-Care
This podcast episode talks about dealing with overwhelm–lots of good ideas here. If you enjoy it, Lisa also has a book on this same topic that just came out. And finally…it’s mid-year…I love to spend some time thinking about goals for the second half of the year.
2. Recipes to Try
Here are a couple of things I made for this weekend! First, this Italian Pasta Salad recommended by a good friend of mine. So good! On Sunday we are having these French Dip Sandwiches (along with leftover pasta salad and my go to potato salad)!

3. Quilt + Sew
First, we will begin the Poinsettia Stars BOM Sew Along next Thursday, July 9th! We taped the video for it the other day. Be ready to make blocks A and B and find the introductory post here. Also, the July Block of the Month pattern will be here on the blog this Monday, July 6th. Finally, my patchwork bag pattern is now in two sizes! The larger size is pictured above (grandmother’s flower garden embellishment optional).

4. Book & Podcast Recommendations
Loved the most recent episode of Deep Questions on digital minimalism today. I also enjoyed the mid-year check in from Laura and Sarah on Best of Both Worlds. Watch for mine coming soon on the blog.

5. $5 for July: Blooming
This month’s $5 pattern is my Blooming quilt, pictured above in our Delightfully Yours fabrics. This is a Honeybun friendly and scrap friendly pattern that makes a really nice size quilt (and there are also two different size options included in the pattern).

6. Birch & Willow Early Precuts
Some early Birch & Willow precuts are in the shop now! This collection doesn’t ship until August, but if you are looking for a jump start for your fall sewing, be sure to check them out!

Happy 4th Sherri. I’m ordering the bow pattern but have a quick question for you. Could it be made with mini charm packs? I want to for sure do one in Midsummer and like to have one preordered. Thanks so much.
