Favorites | Fabric and Notions

Happy Friday! It's favorites day, and I sure have some fun things to share! I've been doing a little more sewing with Desert Bloom (it ships very, very soon!) and have just been having so much fun with it.

I love the fact that this collection is so very versatile depending on which color

combinations I use...and even if I use them all of the colors in one project! The patchwork above is from the iPad cover I shared yesterday, but I'm already sewing more Desert Bloom squares together for some other projects!

This week also brought some happy mail from Fat Quarter Shop. Their Sew Sampler subscription box for October is about the best one I've received. There are so many fun notions to try!

First of all was a zipper bag which is perfect for tucking all sorts of notions inside. When I read the info on it I realized it's sized perfectly for a Jolly Bar and the Fat Quarter shop Jolly Bar book, too!

There is a mini roll which includes ten fat eighths from the Bonnie & Camille collection Handmade. Along with this is Bonnie's fun "Stitch Lovely Things" pattern with a project bag you can make and personalize with stitching. Of course the Handmade Cosmo floss set is included as well as a set of chenille needles perfect for stitching the  projects included! Finally...a tin of my favorite Little House glass-head pins is included! I needed some more of did they know??

There is also an embroidery pattern for the "Made with Love" logo, a Sew Sampler sticker, and a recipe card for a fun block in three different sizes. I love that this box had a theme to it and included so many of the notions necessary to make the fun patterns included!

Finally...all Craftsy classes are on sale from today through 11:59 p.m. MST Monday, October 31; every class will be under $20! Go here to shop the classes!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

I'm loving the Desert Blooms fabric! I enjoy checking out the FQS, but I've never purchased the subscription box...sounds fun!

Those fabrics are beautiful together. I have a question since you are sewing squares together and they look so nice and straight. I am doing a scrap quilt with 2" squares. I have to sew a 7x7 block and a 3x7 block and 3x3 block. I've used the 9-patch as my basis for all the blocks. I have difficulty with so many blocks being put together and keeping them straight. I square each 9-patch, and keep squaring every time I join them together. However by the time I get the entire block together, measuring 17x17, it still isn't squared. Do you have any suggestions for me on how to keep all those blocks square? Thank you so much!
