Red and Green Quilt

Hello! Today I'm super happy to be sharing my red and green quilt I finished up just before Christmas. It's a favorite!!!

I went back and forth about the quilting; I had an amazing long-arm quilter

who said she would do custom quilting for me and have it ready for Christmas, but in the end I decided I just didn't want to add any extra work to her holiday schedule...I could wait. And then I started thinking that maybe an all-over pattern would be just fine for this quilt...although I didn't know what that pattern would be.

Another one of my amazing long-arm quilter friends (I have many) came up with this perfect pattern...it reminds me of Christmas snow swirls! I'm absolutely delighted with how it turned out (thank you Marion)!

House blocks are one of my favorites...and I love the houses that now look like they are glowing beautifully in a snowstorm.

The Tree of Life block is another favorite...

The lilies, the flying geese, the spools, and star...more favorite blocks!

Yes, I sure do love spools!

 And dancing posy blocks...

The applique' Joanna had us add at the end was the perfect addition to this block.

It fits the full-size bed in our guest room and will be able to be used every Christmas!

I'm going to add either a scrappy red or red polka dot binding as soon as possible!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Love the red and green quilt! The quilting does a great job of giving great texture without distracting from the block designs.

This quilt is absolutely beautiful!! That green with the red never tires the eyes, as other greens might. You did a beautiful job, Sherri! Love the quilting you chose for it.

Beautifully done, all those pointy corners! I really like the swirly quilting on a quilt that has lots of angles. Did you make the Sugar Cone quilt hanging on the wall alongside the bed? It's lovely, too!

Really pretty fabrics. I wouldn't have dreamed of doing edge to edge quilting on this pretty quilt, but it works so well.
