Work in Progress Wednesday

Happy Wednesday! My work in progress this week is my Mini Vintage Tulips quilt. I had so much fun working on this the other day! And now I just need to get it quilted, bound, and up on my sewing room wall!

You might notice that the navy squares I had in my original post about this quilt didn't make the final cut.

I really wanted to use the navy...in fact I even tried another navy from Daysail that was a little lighter...but the pink I ended up using just looked so much better! So pink it was!

There might be just a few extra photos because I love this little quilt so much!

And, I want to point out the stay-stitching I've added around the outer edges. I recommend stitching 1/8" from the edge whenever the outer edges of your quilt are pieced. It keeps the seams from coming open while you're quilting (or before you get it quilted).

Just love these stems, too...they are just so cute!

And...I ordered some yardage of my favorite Fig Tree Farmhouse low-volume prints...they will be handy for backgrounds and small borders...I have some of these fabrics in my Etsy shop...fat quarter bundles, half-yard bundles, yard bundles, and even a bit of yardage here, here, and here.

Hope you're having a great week! Thanks so much for stopping by!

I looked for the navy immediately. :-) I love the term "victory lap" for the stay stitching around the edge of the quilt. It feels so appropriate sometimes.

Those are beautiful Sherri! And seeing them in such bright, happy colors of red makes me want to make them in all kinds of bright colors and have a full flower garden! :-)
