Happy Friday! It’s finally starting to feel a little “fallish” here in my corner of the world…morning lows in the 60’s signal the end of the hundred and teens for us…hopefully our 6-7 months of beautiful weather is here to stay.
With fall ever-so-readily approaching I’ve been pushing myself not only to get caught up on things that have needed my attention but also to get a little more organized for the crazy fall market sewing soon to come. So since the next installment of my Mystery Red and Green quilt blocks came the other day (a block of the month quilt I’ve been doing from Fig Tree), I decided to tackle this work in progress first.
Block one for this month was this 16″ finished pineapple block. I love the sweet simplicity of this block!
And block two was a fast and fun Bear Paw. I used a mix of scrappy backgrounds for this one.
My month seven blocks are complete; I thought there were just nine months for this project, but I re-read the pattern and realized there are still three months to go.
With such a wonderful assortment of blocks already I am getting just a little excited to see this quilt come together. Patience just has never been one of my strong points!
What are you doing to celebrate the change of seasons? And…is it too early to bring out the fall decor…wondering if I should wait until it’s officially fall next week…or wait another week until the calendar turns to October?
Thanks so much for stopping by!

As always I love your blocks! Tomorrow starts the Oktoberfest (also known as 'Wiesn' here in Munich) and that's the official start here for fall. So bring out your fall decoration or give us a sneak peek of your market sewing … just saying;-)

Love the color combos in your beautiful blocks! I too was ready to bring out a few fall decors, but my husband is holding on to summer yet……so I'll wait a bit longer :)! I LOVE my Fall!

Those blocks are wonderful! I have a few fall things out already, but tend to wait until October to go all out for it.

Yes, those blocks are gorgeous and it must me hard to wait to see how it will turn out! I was wondering about your pineapple block. Is it paper pieced or what is your method of making it?

I'm sayin' it's fall here in Ohio. I don't have any decorations out yet, but my attitude is all fall now. I'm heading to the annual Wool Gathering this weekend, and that's always a sure sign of fall for me. 🙂

I already put my fall wreath with the sunflowers and leaves on my fence outside.
And, I also changed the arrangement at the door of my parents apartment at Ashby Ponds: The quilted hanging I made last year and I found two adorable little scare crow type dolls at Wegmans. So I stood those out on the shelf too. These decorations always make my dad laugh hahahaa
I love these blocks. I love each one!
I believe it is never too early for anything 🙂
Now where is that pumpkin pie ice cream from Turkey Hill???
