The other day I pulled out a work in progress from 2010. At least I think it’s from 2010–the pattern is Elizabeth Hartman’s “Small Plates” from her book Modern Patchwork which was published in ’10.
When I started work I had twelve completed blocks, and now I have forty blocks! They go together so quickly, I’m not sure why I haven’t finished this up before now. The pattern calls for 80 blocks, so I’m definitely at the half-way poing unless I decide to make it a little smaller. All of the fabrics are by Tula Pink; I started with a charm pack of Plume and Neptune and added in a few fat quarters from some more recent collections. (I think finishing this quilt is going to require an internet search for more perfect Tula prints to add in)!
Here is one of my favorite blocks…I just love the aqua with the center floral.
And I love the navy with the aqua and pinks.
This is another combination I really like.
And the almost lacey damask type print looks beautiful with the dark navy.
Okay…last one…since I love the ocean the anchors are another favorite!
I’m going to finish this quilt this year…how can I not…I love it! The simplicity of the pattern really makes the fabrics stand out. Of course I’ll have to figure out the perfect back and binding fabrics, too…decisions…decisions!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
PS Congratulations to Lynne Tilley who won the Sew Fabulous Gift Certificate giveaway!

It's beautiful and definitely worthy of being finished! Maybe some of the Saltwater prints will work. There is navy and aqua and I think green and they are readily available. Can't wait to see it finished.

Really nice blocks Sherri and love that fabric line….the blocks look like they might be easy to put together and love the effect of white contrasts.

Love the fabric you used, and the pattern. I need to make one of those, I have LOTS of Tula Pink material. Your white material is so bright and crisp, I'm assuming you use a moda solid, which one? Thanks!

I really like that one too!
