Giveaway from ChristaQuilts!

It's time for another fabric giveaway, this time from ChristaQuilts!  Christa is a new sponsor who also writes a terrific blog with wonderful tips and quilt alongs! Christa is offering a $20 gift certificate to her store to spend on anything you want! Perhaps you may want to put it towards one of the lovely kits she offers.

In fact, Christa loves quilt kits so much she wants to make more of them, but she needs your help! Let her know what type of kit or size is your favorite. Do you like smaller projects like table runners and wall-hangings? Medium sized kits like baby quilts and throws? Or large bed-sized quilts? And do you prefer pieced, applique or mixed projects?

Run over to Christa's store and take a quick peek at all of the lovely kits she has to offer, then come back here and leave your comment below to be entered into the random drawing. Remember that ChristaQuilts offers FREE shipping in the US with no minimum purchase and also offers discounted international rates.

Don't forget to use the coupon code B13AQL for an extra 5% off your first order with Christa. Those of you that have already ordered from her and used the code don't need to worry. You automatically get the discount already!

Good luck in the giveaway; I'll keep this one open through Monday evening!

I like kits that combine an extensive palette of fabrics that I wouldn't assemble myself.

Lisa Marie said...

I haven't really used kits but I really like this one from her shop:
Dr. Seuss Lorax The Need For Thneeds Pieced Quilt Kit Earth. I like lap size quilts the best.

Deb C. said...

Oh I really like your Apple Jacks kit. When I think about spending money on a project, the fabric needs to grab my attention. I really would love to make a bunch of table runners, but something besides plain pieced blocks. Maybe a simple applique to dress it up? That way, the project stays affordable, simple and satisfying at the same time.

Hi, I'm newish to quilting and have been reading here for just a bit. Thanks for the link to Christa's blog. I didn't know it was there.
Wow, those batiks are gorgeous!

Barbara @ Nähtante Quilts said...

These are gorgeous quilt kits. I think I'm in love with the Charming Chevrons Kit Kona Cotton New Classics.
Thanks for the chance!

Tiffany said...

Pieced quilts are my favorite. I think if I were ever to buy a quilt kit, it would be for something smaller like a runner or a baby quilt. Or perhaps an apron or a bag?

DebrafromMD said...

quilts that combing piecing and applique are my favorites. I usually make quilts that are lap size or larger.

Jane said...

I prefer pieced bed size kits. Thanks!

Maggie said...

I like the throw sized kits, and like someone said, it is great if the palette is something that would be a challenge to put together for myself.

Maxwells said...

I like bed size or lap size quilt kits at a decent price :) I like pieced, but my fav are pieced with some applique to them.

Carol C. said...

The quilt kits are really nice!! I love the French Roses quilt kit -- guess I prefer lap sized quilt kits. I thoroughly enjoyed Christa's blog! Thanks!

krisgray said...

I'm not a kit fan unless there are some precut applique shapes that make is go so much faster.

gailss said...

I have tried kits and have to say it is nice to have everything there and all in a kit. My favorite is lap sizes and find it easy to work.
Love her blog and do ffollow it.
Thanks, Gail

jmj said...

she has lovely fabric, I not really interested in a kit, but I think they are great for first time quilters!!!

SpartanBabe said...

Love Christa Quilts! I like kits that make a larger project like twin/Queen/King quilts. They make picking all the fabrics out a snap. A lot of times with a large project, the anxiety to pick out the right fabrics is amplified with the size of the quilt. Little projects are good practice for me, but pre-cuts mized with yardage for smaller projects make starting and finishing a quick process too. So, I vote for larger kits, lots of precuts and coordinating/solid yardage. Did I say I love Christa Quilts?

suemac said...

I am mostly interested in either baby or lap quilt size if I get a quilt kit. I like strictly pieced.

Rebecca said...

She has a great selection in kits! My favorite size is lap size or baby.

I have done a table runner kit and a wall hanging kit. I like bag kits I think the best. It just has everything you need and with a bag sometimes you forget something and its a process to go get it in the middle of trying to get your bag done. Kits make that much better! Thanks!

Grandmasewnsew said...

The Hugs 'n Kisses Kit would be perfect for Christa's Quilt-Along which is starting now! You have to read her blog, it's great!

Laura Raquel said...

I love small project kits but all of her kits are great.

Oh my goodness, I love her Lorax kits! I have only made bigger quilts, but it's really fun to have a small project to break up the larger ones. I think kits for things like quilted bags would be really fun.

Thanks for the giveaway!

Ramona said...

I think kits are great and wish I would have bought more in the past - as they are probably a cheaper deal than buying fat quarter packs that have too much of some fabric, but not enough of others to actually do a specific project. I have purchased applique kits to get all those little bits of the needed colors. And WOW at Sherri - you already finished your first barn!!! Adorable!

Christine M said...

Christa has put together some lovely kits. I really like the Chevron kits. Thanks for the lovely giveaway.

I'm a new quilter... so I'm thinking throw sized is right up my alley for now... though in the future, I really, really would like to make a quilt for our king sized bed, and also for my kiddo's bed... one that he'll take with him. But start small right?

as far as what type, I think I would prefer pieced. I'm not even sure altogether what paper piecing is?

I prefer to MAKE twin size or smaller...but if someone would make me a larger I know I'd love it! With just a regular machine...FMQ is quite difficult on larger than a twin..at least for me. I have never had a kit so I don't know how those are. But Christa has so many wonderful fabrics!!!

Jackie said...

I myself prefer large quilts, after a few lap quilts??? What to do with all lap quilts, I prefer something that I can use on a bed, so therefore from a twin to a king size quilt. I also prefer piecing.

I like all the kits she has expecially the Lorax one. I'm finishing up a charm pack Lorax baby quilt this weekend but the colorway in her kit, the blocks and the layout are great. For new kit ideas, smaller projects would be fun.
