Hello, Happy March 1st, and welcome to the third installment of the Blogger Girls Block of the month! Here in sunny southern Nevada March is coming in like a lamb which means we might be in for some windy weather and cooler temps at the end of the month–but that’s okay because I’m never ready for the heat to arrive!
Once again I had a wonderful time using Monique’s pattern to make my two blocks (my fabric is Indigo Crossing by Minick & Simpson for Moda, available in shops now).
I’ve always wanted to make a blue and white quilt, and with each set of blocks I’m happy that I finally started one! I’m not sure which version is my favorite?!
I absolutely love them both!
And here are the first 6 blocks together with each alternate version below the original version. It’s quite a difference!
This month’s pattern suggests you use Monique’s Fit to be Quarter 6.5″ and Companion Ruler. I must say, these are two incredible rulers! I probably use Monique’s Fit to be Quarter 6.5″ ruler every day, and the Companion Ruler makes flip corners a breeze.
So, head on over to Monique’s blog for this month’s pattern, and then visit the other participating quilters’ blogs to see their beautiful versions! Remember, the patterns will only be available for free until the quilt along is finished, so be sure to download your copies now.

I love the Blogger Girls BOM – I have been printing out the instructions in preparation. I am toying with using these for my Bee month in June as then everyone could choose their favourite block to do. Yours look great – love the contrast.

Hi Sherri, again from Spain. Since I found you few days ago I can not stop being in your blog. As I said before I loved Navy ones and as you my first Sampler (I am a begginer in this and you my inspiration) I am doing a blue, white and soft yellow one!!!
Mine is very simple beside yours but if you want to see it:elenaysuslabores.blogspot.com.es

I bought those two rulers and the 9 1/2 size too. They are my favorites! I love how they have diagonal lines. I use them all the time instead of my other rulers! I'm saving these and will start soon. I'm going for red and cream.

Yes, I'm loving the blue and white quilt too. I hadn't considered these colours alone for a quilt, but I think I'm convinced now. I've always loved a blue bedroom, even as a little girl.

I love your 2-color quilt, Sherri. I think this is my favorite combination of fabrics for the BOM. Good eye!

Would love to read more about your favourite machine feet and ways how you manage to sew over bulky butted seams (flying geese etc) so beatufifully!!
