Over the past few days I've done a lot of yardwork, a little housework, and minimal sewing. So I decided to try to start and finish something fun after dinner last night! I've been wanting a "fallish" wallhanging to hang in my front entryway (after all, fall will officially be here Saturday even if the thermometer doesn't agree), and Joanna's Sparkle pattern seemed to be the perfect project.
The pattern finishes up about 36 x 36 and uses just one charm pack and 1 1/4 yards of background. I didn't have a charm pack, but I did have some Tapestry scraps I combined with a few pieces of Mill House Inn and Pattisserie.
This was a fast and fun project--definitely instant gratification. It's fun to see the star come together quickly, and the pieced border is the perfect pop of color around the edges. I think this would make a fun Christmas gift in Christmas fabrics--the recipient could use it for a table topper or wall hanging.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Oh how nice! I love the Sparkle pattern. It is on my wishlist, I just haven't ordered it yet. Hopefully soon!
Reminiscent of Sparkle Plenty with the star pattern and HSTs. They even share a similar name. Very pretty.
Very nice! Love the fabrics! I'll have to check out the pattern.
What a great star! Love your fabrics...thanks for sharing!
I so love it! Off to check out the pattern...
I have this pattern and will do a Christmas quilt for sure..it's amazing how different this pattern looks with the layout and fabric changing with each "creator." I am just not seeing that it isn't Sparkle Plenty, that's the one I have..
Love the pattern and the colors you used. May have to add that pattern to my wishlist. :)
Your wall hanging is really cute! That reminds me, I need to get going on my halloween table runner!
I love your quilt Sherri...great choice of fabrics. I will definitely be making this one!!!
It could also be made into a tree skirt!

Pure cuteness. It will make a wonderful gift.
I just love it! Wonderful job!
Your block is beautiful! Sparkle is probably my favorite pattern right now! Looks a little more difficult than my very beginner skills but I've been so tempted to buy the kit for when I'm more advanced in my skills. I think tapestry is going to be my favorite fabric collection too. I can NOT wait for it to arrive in my LQS!
So, let me get this straight. You did that in an evening.
Please pass whatever you're taking -- I need some of that!
;-D
Great idea! Lovely fabrics, beautiful star! Thanks for sharing!
Gorgeous and inspiring!
LOL, okay, did you see my post on Sparkle on Monday??? I made up the 4 block version! But I might have to do it again and just make the table topper like you did!
