Summer Finish

Well, my Denyse Schmidt "Swoon" quilt is ready to be quilted. This is probably my last big finish before school starts next week, so I was glad to be able to get this project wrapped up!

I think I finished up my last quilt for the summer.  Immediately after finishing it up I ran outside to get a photo.  I ended up putting my "make-do" block right in the middle--I think it ended up being my favorite one! (The photo is kind of dark since the sun was already starting to set).

So this morning I snapped another photo...and hopefully it's off to the quilter soon!

Also, Quilted Works is having an amazing $200 gift-card giveaway if you are on Facebook.  Click on the Giveaway tab on the left side of the page to enter!

A great quilt! Maybe I need to get a quilter for all my tops....grin.

I keep thinking I'll win the lotto and get me a long arm.

I really like this block a lot. I discovered it's a block called Carpenter's Wheel. I found several old quilts using this block in some antique quilt books I have. Congratulations on your beautiful finish.

Nice giveaway and they have pfaff too, would be nice to get some pfaff products, maybe some learning tools so I can learn how to use my machine.

This turned out fabulous! I love the variety of blocks, and the different positioning of the dark and medium values. Creates a cool effect so your eyes move around the quilt. This one came together pretty fast!

Swoon is great pattern. Isn't it fun to vary the placement of lights and darks?

Your Swoon quilt is commendable! I could just swoon myself for it. I like your photo outdoors on the lawn, too. It's so difficult to get a good photo of a large quilt. Sometimes I lay mine out on my foyer floor and go upstairs to get a photo.

Have a super day!
