Fun Fabric Ahead

Fun fabric above!  It's Countdown to Christmas, a delightful Christmas line by Sweetwater that will be coming out this spring.

I had a lot of fun making this sample quilt for FatQuarterShop (this is some of the secret sewing I couldn't share until now)!  The pattern is "One, Two, Buckle My Shoe" by Amber of Gigi's Thimble pattern company. It was a fun pattern to sew and went together quickly!

FatQuarterShop already has the kit available for pre-order here (you can see a full sized picture of the quilt on their site, too)!

The only project I completely finished this week was the "About Town" bag using some other Sweetwater fabric, Sunkissed. To see the pattern and other views of this bag click here. This is actually the third "About Town" bag I've made (I made two of the three pattern samples before Fall market).  I love this bag with these fun spring colors.  The yellow gingham you see on the bag top binding is what i used for the lining as well.

I was pretty good this week and kept fabric out of my shopping carts for the most part.  I did have to get 4 yards of Bliss for a backing (how can you resist at 30% off?)! Still, even with purchasing just 4 yards my year-to-date totals went up quite a bit since I only used 1 1/2 yards (Year to date in 54 1/8; year to date used 47 3/8; year to date added to stash 6 3/4).

I'll be closing the comments tonight for my Scrap-Basket Sensations giveaway (wow...there were so many comments--and for good reason--the book is amazing)! There are still other copies available from the other stops on the tour..make sure you enter them all!

I love Countdown to Christmas! Actually, I love all the Sweetwater designs. Sunkissed is too adorable -- the bag looks really roomy.

6 3/4 yards, huh? Still not too bad considering all the tempting gorgeous fabric available.

Thanks again for your kind words about the book -- you're too sweet!

That is fun fabric. I was looking today for something fun that I could use in eggs, but nothing.

Do you mind if I steal some pictures of the quilt to put on my blog?

I bought a kit to do a quilt from the first book, but on browsing the new book on Amazon, I see that I want to make one from the new book. Since I have yet to purchase either book, I would sure love to win the new one! Karmen

I love your FQS secret project... Sweetwater just has one fun line of fabrics after another... all of them are fantastic/so I guess this group is first on my "Christmas" fabric list! The tote bag is really cute to made out of Sunkissed. I have been playing with that group too.

Aren't you amazed at how fast your fabric in stats grow? I guess with all the quilts you make you need some fabric coming in, but the numbers really are fascinating.

Count down to Christmas is adorable, wonderful job!

Crazy to be sewing Christmas fabric already....all part of marketing I guess. Do you have to play some Christmas music to get in the mood?
