I think my Bliss “Paper Roses” quilt will be a good one to work on today (just need to finish up the hand-stitching on the binding)–the colors of this quilt definitely say “Valentines!”
I’m also hoping to work more on my “Picnic” quilt. The 12 blocks I had finished the other day have quickly multiplied into 28…I’m spending more time with ironing this quilt since I’m using fat quarters that all need to be ironed before I can cut my 2 ½″ strips for the blocks! The blocks go together quick as can be!
And….I’m hoping, hoping, hoping to get to play a little with this new tool…Wrights Easy Fat Cats Quilting Ruler – 12 Inch x12 Inch x7 Inch. I first saw it on this post of Cindy’s and knew I had to try it out! I love Dresden’s, and these chunky ones have stolen my heart! Hopefully some fun, chunky Dresdens will be appearing on this blog soon!
Oh…and I need to announce the winner of Scrap-Basket Surprises. It seems Random.Org had been spitting out big numbers lately, so I was surprised that the number that came back was number 19, Deserae. Congrats…I’ll be sending you an e-mail to get your mailing info! And remember…there are still more stops on the tour…today’s post is over at Millie’s!
Oh…and be sure to come back tomorrow…something fun…just sayin’!

You're right! The Bliss fabric screams Valentine's day. I can't wait to see what you do with that new ruler. I haven't seen it.
CJ says
Yup, looks like Valentines to me! You have really made progress on the Picnic quilt too. Fat Dresdens?? I need to get my skinny dresden ruler out and try it and then I might get brave enough for the fat ones.

I've had that ruler for over a year & love it! And not shockingly, a 12-blade dresden is much easier to piece accurately vs a 20-blade, for example!

I'll be waiting to read more about your new ruler, Sherri.

This is the first I've seen the Fat Cat ruler. Looks like a great tool to be able to make any size dresden you want.

Don't you love sewing the binding? I think it's my favorite part of the process. Your Paper Roses quilt is gorgeous. And Picnic is definitely growing!
Thanks for sharing the Fat Cats ruler. I saw that in the quilt shop recently, but had no idea you could make chunky dresdens with it. Too cute!

Pretty quilts! I have that cat template, but I haven't used it for cats yet. Used it for a bunting though… 🙂
