Been Binding!

I have so many projects to finish before Christmas...but it's just been so cozy to sit and bind quilts in the evenings now that cooler weather has arrived. I've finished the binding (all red bindings) on these three quilts since Friday.

I know I've shared my Cameos quilts before...but they weren't quilted then, and quilts just come to life after they're quilted.

Truly a classic design that looks well in so many fabrics. Darlene just finished hers in the Holly Jolly fabrics...you can see it here!

And here is the full view...I think the red binding just makes this quilt "pop."

Red was also the perfect frame for my Mill House Inn version.

I also had to share this wonderful package I received in the mail from Stephanie. Two wonderful Christmas fat quarters, a delightful pincushion (my first Christamas pincushion!) and a wonderful red spool! I love how Stephanie combined the linen with the Michael Miller Christmas fabric in the pincushion...and the pink button and rick rack add the perfect touch! Thank you Stephanie!
Have a wonderful day...I'm off to the sewing room!

I love those!

I am terrible at binding, and have several stalled projects because of it! When I am home at Christmas, I am bringing them with me, so that my mother can help!

I love the cameo quilt- especially your Christmas version. I have made a quilt called Paperweight that is somewhat similar in design. It was a fun quilt to make- the pattern is from Aardvark Patterns in Kansas.
Thanks for sharing your lovely work.

Anna

Just look at all those gorgeous quilts! I love that pattern and especially love that it looks great with all those different fabrics! As much as I love cutting, I think hand-stitching the binding may be my favorite part.

One of my favourite things to do quilting wise of course is the binding...if find it so relaxing, I find closure as I've spent so many hours and days working on that particular quilt, and I also find joy as I know the recipient will love it...and it feels so good to get it done.

Those quilts are just beautiful! You are right, it is the cold days that really beg you to sit down and bind. Love the package from Stephanie, I also receive a similar package. She is fantastic isn't she?

I just found your site ... LOVE it!

I spent last night binding also. I'm going out on Christmas Eve ... so whipped together a simple Christmas lap quilt as a hostess gift.

Love your red and green quilt ... I'm looking closely to see how you made it. It doesn't matter how many things I have on the go, when I see a new pattern I want to just dive in.

Thanks ... I'll be back.
