I've been busy doing a lot of small things...and some of the things don't necessarily make great pictures (like piecing quilt backs, making binding, prepping stitchery blocks and such). And I've been working on things I'm not quite ready to share yet, like the prizes for my blogiversary give-away coming up in just over a week...yes, I started blogging last year on July 1st!
I finished the quilt above (
Flower Baskets by Joined at the Hip) quite a while ago, but only got the binding on the other day. It's now hanging on the wall, and every time I look at it I wonder why I waited so long to finish!

This is a quilt I haven't shared before, it also hangs in the hall, and I'm thinking of making another one soon. The pattern is
Pocketful of Posies, and it is a pattern that you use with the X-block rotary cutting tool. You make 9-patches, then cut them with the special ruler. The outer border is made completely from the cuttings that might normally have been thrown away, so there is practically no waste. This is a great stash-buster quilt.

This is another thing I did recently...you might think it's kind of silly. I couldn't bear to throw away any of my
Simple Abundance scraps, so I sewed them all together...not sure what I'm going to do with this (actually, I think it's going to go on the bulletin board for inspiration), but it's a great mini-collage of many of the fabrics in that line.

These are the books I've been reading...I can't wait to make projects from both books. The only problem is most of the fabrics I want to use in these projects haven't been released yet!

And these bits and pieces that I showed last week are quickly becoming the blocks on the right! This has been a fun quilt to work on...I should have the top put together in another day.

I enjoyed seeing all of your projects. Especially loved the little red, white, & blue pillows from your previous post. Sally
I LOVE you're 'Pocketful of Posies' quilt! The colors are unique and the border is very cool. I think I'll get the pattern and try that border with some new fabric.
Thanks for the inspiration!
I saw "X" rules at the quilt shop the other day. I wondered what they were used for. Now I get the idea.
You have been a very busy girl...I've never seen X-block tools...I must get out more...LOL!
Love your quilts!

Oh I just love the pocket full of posies quilt! I'm going to get myself one of those tools! I hope to get some sewing in this evening--wish me luck!
The basket quilt is great. Thanks for the kind words regarding my book. As for Kim's book, I think it is her best book yet.
Flowers Basket quilt? I was looking everywhere for that pattern, but I was told it was out of print! Now that you have finished with it, would you considered resell it off to me. Please? I am a basket weaver and love everything with baskets in it, surprise, surprise!!!
Oh I love your pocket full of posies! I need a basket.
I seem to remember your 'basket quilt' - I'm glad you've finished the binding. It's beautiful, Sherri.
Everything you do is always fun to see.
Hi Sherri! I think you are the most productive quilter/blogger I know! Love it all. Keep up the good work!
V. here... Thanks for showing your two new quits. They are beauties. I especially like the one that has the tiny sliver scraps in the border so nothing is wasted. Very good philosophy!! Using the lefter over simple abundance- Amazing what can be done with items rather than throw them away. that's my style. Not silly At All!!Can't wait to see the blocks that should be made into a quilt in a day or so. All are beautiful fabrics!! How exciting to have a blogversary soon. v.
That mini collage is a great idea for fabric scraps you love! You could quilt it for a hot pad or add a border for a pillow cover or cushion. Things are always busy and pretty at your house - thanks for sharing!
I have the X-block's and several patterns....haven't done anything with them yet. They sit happily in my pile hoping someday to be paid attention to.
Oh you are amazing Sherri....love it all....you are such an inspiration
I love that you can't throw even the littlest of pieces away of a fabric line you love! I'm the same way! Small projects are sometimes the most favored!
You have plenty of great stuff to share, love the two quilts and I've never heard of the X- blocks but they look fascinating.
I always love your quilts! The flower basket quilt is wonderful. Kim Diehl's book is wonderful, too. I love everything she does.
Cute idea to sew all your little scraps together like that!

Everything looks great....you HAVE been keeping busy...I too have some boring projects to do like borders and bindings...piecing backs....but it's a whole lot more fun to start something new..right!
Wow you have been stitching! Gorgeous quilts! Love the flower basket quilt especially.

I just saw you are a winner at Calamity Janes Cottage.....SO COOL!
What do you use to hang your quilts on your walls? Is it a special hook or something?

you've been busy!
I've got a few of those fabrics. You've got a lot going on. It is like my house - so many projects at the same time and thinking of more! Love the quilt hanging up in your hall.
So that is what my X Block quilt is suppose to look like when the borders are on! I love the colors you used. I hadn't heard of the Goose in the Garden book... I've got to check it out. I wish I could be sewing with you (I think I have said that before). Your projects are sweet... especially the little left-over quilt.
Lovely, lovely! Are you running out of wall space to display all your beautiful quilts? ;)
I can't wait to see what you would do with the simple abundance scraps! So fun!
I just came across your blog - it is very inspiring! I will visit often :) I love the block you just finished for the mystery quilt and what a great idea to make one from your stash also!
