Happy Works in Progress Wednesday! And thank you so very much for all of the kind comments on the Memory Quilt…I appreciate them so much!
I’m getting ready to head out to beautiful Bryce Canyon, Utah to teach at a retreat for the next couple of days. Getting ready to go has involved cutting kits from my stash for the classes I’m teaching. It really has been a lot of fun revisiting some of my older fabrics. I’ve been cutting kits with Bonnie & Camille lines, Christmas fabrics, and patriotic fabrics…so it’s felt like spring, winter and summer all at once!
While I’ve been working on these kits I’ve also been taking a little extra time to cut the left-overs into usable pieces. And I’ve emptied out a few bins since everything is a little better organized.
In the evenings when I’m not teaching, I plan to work on a couple of works in progress.I’m taking a big box of red and white scraps to work on some of the 6-inch blocks. And I’m also taking my American Patchwork & Quilting Quilt Along strips to start sewing four-patches. So hopefully I’ll have quite a bit to share when I get back.
When I get home I have a new can to hold scraps until they are ready to be cut…I just couldn’t resist the color…
Finally…it occurred to me that I completely missed scraps Monday this week with the Schnibbles parade…I will be sure to get that up for next Monday.
And…speaking of Schnibbles…we have two winners. Congrats to Peg from Sinta’s parade and Dawn from my parade…please send me your address ladies so I can get prizes on the way!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Can't believe these are all scraps. They look like they all go together perfectly. My scraps never seem to match anything else.

Some lucky ladies in your classes, if those are the kits they get to work with! Absolutely beautiful!
I wouldn't be able to resist that color either! Where did you find such a gorgeous scrap bin?

What retreat do you go to in Bryce? I saw mention of it last year and couldn't find out. I live in Northern Arizona and was interested in going. Is it open to everyone?

OK, where did you get that darling can? How tall is it? Love it!

Oh my, Sherri, you are so inspiring. I know you will have a great lesson. I certainly wish I lived close by, I would come and learn.
I love the fabrics you have chopped up and ready to go.
Also, I just found yesterdays post.
That special quilt you made from those treasured shirts. It is beautiful.
Have a fun week end teaching.

Hi Sheri,
I think that we have very similar taste in fabrics. I have several of those in your pile and just love anything by Bonnie & Camille.
I know that it is just crazy, but I can't make myself cut into them.
I can't wait to see what you do with yours. Have fun,
cheers,
maggie

I have one of those little trash cans too but not for quilting… it's in my pantry.

I adore that red group. I think it's because of the text. I'm such a sucker for a text design.
