It’s stash week 9–already–and the numbers keep going up…but I will explain what’s kept me so busy lately at the end of this post! The Kona cotton solids above are ones that coordinate with Amy Butler’s Soul Blossoms line–can’t wait to do some mixing and matching soon!
My fabric “inbox” this week is kind of an eclectic mix…the Michael Miller dots were purchased just for my stash…(the green is a lot brighter in person). The sewing novelty prints are just for stash building, too–although I’m going to try to think of a project for them soon. I don’t use the novelty prints I buy as well as I should, but these safety pins, spools, and sewing machines were just too cute to pass up. More Kona solids and some kitchen novelty prints along with Central Park for a backing round out this collage.
I also ordered a little more Anna Maria Horner fabric and some It’s a Hoot for binding. It just amazes me how fat quarters quickly add to the yardage totals. In this week 11 ¼ yards. Out 10 ⅛ (I can’t share this just yet, but I did finish up a quilt that will be off to be quilted soon)! So, year to date totals are 78 ⅛ in with 57 ½ out leaving 20 ⅝ added to stash. I’d better get sewing! (See how everyone else is doing here)!
And this is what’s been keeping me so busy lately…basketball…lots of traveling, lots of games, and today the big payoff as my son’s team won the NIAA Nevada State High School Basketball Tournament in the 3A division! The little collage shows my happy husband and son, the team celebrating on the bus during the parade through our little town, my son outside back at the school for the ringing of the victory bell, and of course, the traditional cutting down the net inside the gym! Hope you have a wonderful week!

Congrats to your son and his team. I remember those kinds of days but mine was for soccer.
Great fabrics to add to your stash.

Congrats on your son's team win! I have no idea how much fabric is in my stash and couldn't even guess as I don't have a 'yardage/metre-age' brain I tend to buy with projects in mind mostly though.
Oh, but that red It's a Hoot Fabric, I would just buy, I love it. I only had little charm squares of It's a Hoot, but that was definitely a favourite!
Looking forward to seeing all your secret out yardage!

Hi Sherri, I posted my Sweet Spot if you want to have a look. Hugs.

Congratulations to your son and his basketball team! (Very handsome boy, by the way.)
See! This is why I just can't do the stash report. I would have to actually count how much yardage was in the boxes that arrive during the week instead of just admiring the oh-so-pretty new fabric. Would it be cheating to use 9 yards for backing on a little 32" x 32" quilt? If 4" of extra backing are good, wouldn't 4' be better? 🙂
Mama Pea says
You still get so much done, it's amazing.
Mmmm, Kona…(said like Homer Simpson says, "mmm, beer." haha
Patty says
Very pretty fabrics, congratulations to your boy and to Mom and Dad too. My son's soccer team won the regional state finals too and made all the way to the state finals in soccer lat year. It is quite a ride, enjoy it !

Congratulations to your family on winning the State High School basketball tournament! Your son may have been on the team, but it takes a family to have a child be successful in sports. A wonderful memory and accomplishment no one can ever take away from your son. I could not be happier for you all!
You have a son and husband…..who knew!! Thanks for sharing a little Sherri something that's not quilt related.
