Today I’m introducing “Sparkle,” a beginner friendly large block pattern that packs a punch! “Sparkle” is a twin size quilt which can be pieced with a focus fabric and 20 fat eighths (or 10 fat quarters if you want to make two stars from each fabric). I pieced my version using the delightful new Bonnie & Camille collection, Miss Kate.
I used the beautiful aqua from Miss Kate for my focus fabric, and then I picked up the aqua again with the beautiful aqua scallop for the binding.
Abby did the quilting with a large all-over modern flower pattern which was just perfect for this quilt.
It turned out exactly as I hoped!
You can get a good idea of the quilting here…large quilting…but not overwhelming at all–in fact the open spaces really add to the modern feel.
Of course I had to take one photo with the quilt rolled up!
And I’ve decided navy and orange is my favorite color combination right now. I think my next quilt will definitely have those colors together!
PDF patterns are available now (sale price until market), and paper patterns will ship in 2 weeks.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

This is a great looking quilt Sherri. I got an idea of what it would like in just two colors from your quilting close up photo. That would look nice also.

I just downloaded and printed out Seashore and Sparkles. I am so excited for the time in the fall when I have time to sew these up!!! I am making quilts for all my numerous grandchildren this fall. Thank you for making these wonderful looking quilts that don't sound too difficult for me to make. Really, I am just so excited. So excited that I can hardly wait for vacations to end–how dumb is that?
