I have a couple of projects I can’t wait to start…you know, the kind of projects that stay on your mind…things you know will be the perfect combination of print and pattern. But I’ve been doing some cleaning and organizing in my sewing room lately and knew I needed to finish up a couple of things before starting anything else. First up to work on was my “Paper Roses” quilt. It still needs an outer border, but since Bliss won’t be available until fall…the outer border will have to wait.
I’ve decided to use a large aqua print with red flowers for the outer border…and a red polka dot binding.
I also got the outer border put on my “a la mode” quilt…pinwheels again…and I pieced a back for it using some extra layer cake squares and some yardage. I’m not very good at piecing backs as soon as I finish quilt tops, so this was a great finish for me!
And…the final block arrived for the FatQuarterShop’s Mystery Designer Block of the month for 2009. My goal is to set these two quilts together soon…before the first block arrives for the 2010 quilt. I still have some other works in progress…but I think I accomplished enough to start another project or two…and I’ve already started a list of my favorite fabric and patterns that will be showing up at Spring Quilt Market this week! Hope you have a wonderful day and that you get to sew soon!

Thelma says
I just love your blog! How do you get those two little pictures in one square? Besides that, it's just small, neat, tidy, and fresh! I'm guessing just like you. Have you ever noticed my big font and huge in your face pictures on my blog…I guess that says it all about me!
Love the quilts, love the blocks…..sorry I can't be more original, but I do love'm!
I fell in love with Fig Tree's Papillon, it grabbed me when I was looking through the Quilt Shop Sampler magazine. Have you tried to make that block or quilt? Now that I have the pattern I'm not as enthused. The block looks labor intensive and "iffy" as to whether you even end up with a square block when you're done….just wondering.
Sandra Henderson says
AMAZING quilts! LOVE them… You're a busy lady! 🙂
