My Saturday sewing hours were limited, so I was determined to make the most of the time available. I don’t have any deadlines for projects right now, so I was kind of at a loss as to what to sew. Has that ever happened to you–one day you have a “mile-long” list, and then when you have a minute, you can’t make a decision?!!!
I finally decided on sewing some tumblers that I cut from some project left-overs a few weeks ago. I’m not sure if this will become a pillow top or a little casserole mat for the kitchen, but it was one of those little projects that was fast and fun! I’ll do straight line quilting and use red gingham for the binding.
Next I decided to sew block 10 from the Fat Quarter Shop’s 2011 Designer Mystery Block of the Month (only two blocks to go…can’t believe it). This month’s block was designed by Gudrun Erla and is absolutely gorgeous. There were quite a few pieces to this block, but you can “chain sew” most of them, so it really didn’t take that long.
After sewing I decided to work on organizing some of my scraps, and first set out to cut some 2 ½” squares from my Sew Cherry left-overs.

Looks like a fun day, and yes, that happens to me all the time. If I have a mile-long list, I can't decide where to start, and if I don't, I still don't know where to start! LOL. Love what you started working on!

Looks like some fun "little" projects Sherri. I'm having a similar problem now — looking around for a new project and there's just too much inspiration out here!

Wow—each picture just gets better and better in this post! LOL I love the tumblers! Did you handcut or use an accuquilt for those? I am trying to figure out if those dies will work in my scrapbook diecutting machine….
I LOVE that block from last year's mystery quilt! I wonder if you can still get those? Or at least the pattern for that block–love it! I did sign up for this years mystery quilt—love that Vintage Modern fabric too!

I like organizing scraps. I am so crazy, I even like to iron them and put them into neat piles. Yours are so pretty. Can't wait to see what you do with them all. 🙂
