Hello, friends! Today I’m sharing the Saturday Seven 457: Lifestyle & More for Quilters with a roundup of inspiration from around the internet this week. I hope you’ll find some inspiration for your weekend and the week ahead.
It’s going to be a binding/sewing weekend for me. I’m trying to finish up my remaining quilts for our new collection release at the end of September, and I’m also able to start binding a few I picked up from the quilter the other day! The weather is also supposed to cool down a bit, and I’m hoping I can get back to walking outdoors again soon.

Saturday Seven 457: Lifestyle & More for Quilters
1. Self-Care
I loved this post about “Puttering as a Practice.” I think it can be so good for the soul to just enjoy one’s home and make little changes here and there without deadline or worry! I’m definitely hoping to do some puttering this weekend!
2. Recipes to Try
I’m making this One Pot Creamy Mushroom Pasta for Sunday dinner tomorrow, and I’m adding in some rotisserie chicken for protein. This roundup of fall recipes is also packed with easy ideas for taking to a tailgating party or just for eating at home. Finally, I’m going to make a batch of these Fresh Blueberry and Greek Yogurt Muffins to try!

3. Quilt + Sew: Jelly Roll Edition
Did you know that National Sew a Jelly Roll Day is coming up very soon? Here are a few of my most-read Jelly Roll posts for inspiration:
- My Jelly Roll Archives–find links to my whole catalog of Jelly Roll posts here
- 10 Tips for Using Jelly Rolls
- My Anasazi Jelly Roll Quilt is a free pattern download–details here
4. Book & Podcast Recommendations
Just started volume one after recommendations from members of my Patreon group, and I am hooked! I’ve got the whole set being delivered tomorrow. But I’ve started reading volume one on my Kindle because it was available free through my Kindle unlimited. It’s the perfect series to read after returning home from the UK.

5. $5 Pattern for September Begins Today
The September $5 pattern is my Shine Remix pattern–and this one is such a terrific deal. The pattern includes directions for 3 sizes: a twin/full, a throw, and a mini! I’ve actually been looking at the mini version which is in my sewing room on the wall and thinking how fun it would be to remake in either fall or Christmas prints!
6. Fall Things
I really want to decorate for fall, but I’m forcing myself to wait until it’s officially September. In the meantime, though, here is a great post with a lot of ideas for getting ready for the upcoming fall season. And this post also has a lot of fun fall things including essential oil scents to mix, fall porch ideas, and more.
