Hello, friends! I hope you’ll have a wonderful weekend. Today I’m sharing the Saturday Seven 403: Lifestyle & More for Quilters post with a roundup of inspiration I’ve found from around the internet earlier this week. Enjoy!
My weekend will be mostly spent in the sewing room. I’m starting some final quilt market projects with a new collection we’ll be sharing at the end of September and am having so much fun sewing with this group. I’ve also got some works in progress I need to get going on (see more about those in Monday’s post and video). And I’m also continuing to do some organizing here in the studio.

Saturday Seven 403: Lifestyle & More for Quilters
1. Self-Care
I tried a phone-free morning routine this week and loved it! And for any readers over 50: “If I Were 50 Again, Here’s Exactly What I’d Do Differently“–lots of great ideas actually, no matter your age.
2. Recipes to Try
This Zucchini Frittata with Feta looks amazing! And I’m saving this Olive Garden Chicken Pasta copycat recipe (crockpot) for a busy day.
3. Quilt + Sew
Today is about tips and fabrics! First, here are some of my best Quilt Piecing Tips and Tricks to Improve your Accuracy. Check out number 5 below for a new video tip, too! And finally, some fun fabric: I’ve got the fantastic 60″ cheater print from Nantucket Summer in the shop along with some terrific end-of-bolt fabrics!
4. Book & Podcast Recommendations
I loved Episode 365: What Technology Wants (and How to Push Back) from the Deep Questions podcast this week. I also enjoyed the most recent episode of the Happier Podcast.
5. New Video: Tips for Flying Geese Units with Directional Fabrics (perfect for star blocks)
We just filmed a new video with a fantastic method for easily getting directional fabrics all going the same direction when using flying geese in a star block. Watch it above or on our YouTube channel.
6. Creativity
I loved this piece on creativity, finding inspiration, and the fear of not being “good enough.” While the author is a painter, I truly feel like her thoughts also apply to quilting!
