Hello, friends! Today I’m sharing the Harbor Quilt Along Introduction post with all of the details you’ll need to sew along and make this delightful row quilt in 2025. The Raspberry Summer fabrics are scheduled to be heading to stores later this month, so now is the perfect time to get organized and ready to sew.
NOTE: This post will be updated monthly with each month’s “assignments.”

Harbor Quilt Along Introduction
The Harbor Row Quilt
The Harbor Row quilt is one of my favorites. Here are a few quick details:
- Finished Size: 52 ½″ x 57 ½″
- Requires 34 fat eighths + 2 ¼-yard Background, 1-yard Outer Border, ½-yard binding, and 3 ½-yard Backing
- NOTE: I used our 60″ wide Dresden Print for the backing–you’ll only need 2 yards of backing if using this option.
- Skill Level: Intermediate
You can also read my original post about this quilt which includes details about the inspiration for this pattern.
Quilt Along Details
I plan to post monthly and also share a video with tips and tricks for each row. There may also be some cross-over between row sewing since two of the rows have the same leaf units and flying geese are included in two rows. As soon as I know the Raspberry Summer fabrics have shipped the sew along will begin. (I’m hopeful that our first sew-along video will air on the first Thursday in March).
Month 1: Flying Geese
For month one (March) we are making all of the flying geese. This includes the 20 flying geese for the flying geese row, the small house roof flying geese, and the large roof flying geese. Be sure to watch this month’s video for all of the tips and ideas for making flying geese! And find links to rulers I mentioned in the video below:

- Mini Simple Folded Corners and Simple Folded Corners Rulers
Harbor Quilt Along Video
Watch this month’s video above or watch it on our YouTube channel. See the quilt up close and hear about my plan for the sew along. (Hint: we won’t be starting with the top row–we will work with the easiest units first).
Thanks so much for stopping by for today’s Harbor Quilt Along Introduction post. I can’t wait until we start sewing!
Happy quilting!
