Hello, friends! Today I’m sharing the Saturday Seven 374: Lifestyle & More for Quilters post. We’ve been having some cooler weather here (for us) this week–no snow, but lots of wind and with lows in the twenties, we are feeling it!
I’m going to be in my sewing room most of today working on a scrap quilt and some smaller projects. I might even get to the final bindings on some new quilts I’ll be sharing next month–we shall see!

Saturday Seven 374: Lifestyle & More for Quilters
1. Self-Care
I loved the ideas in “The Lost Pleasures of Focus.” Slowing down and really looking at things is a great way to practice self-care. And these “7 Evening Habits for a Clutter-Free Mind” really do help me to get a better night’s sleep. Finally, I wrote down every one of these 7 Minimalist Mantras in my journal this week.
2. Recipes to Try
My go-to recipe for Creamy Corn Chowder has an update. I can’t wait to try this with the changes! And these Chicken and Veggie Fajita Bowls look good–I love that this is a one skillet dish, too! I’m also going to try these Bang Bang Salmon Bowls–healthy plus a creamy sauce for the win!
3. Quilt + Sew
My friend Vanessa of Lella Boutique is sharing a darling free Valentine pattern–a little stuffed heart with a pocket. Get her pattern here! And the second week instructions are now available for the Fig Tree & Co. Valentine Mystery Quilt!
4. Book Recommendations
I’m currently reading Same as Ever: A Guide to What Never Changes by Morgan Housel. I absolutely love this book with it’s variety of stories from history that illustrate the author’s points (I loved his previous book The Psychology of Money, too). I’m also reading The Let Them Theory by Mel Robbins and also love the ideas she shares.
5. Podcast Recommendations
I usually put books and podcasts together, but this week there was lots to share! I love the Airtight Task Management episode from Best of Both Worlds (so many great ideas). And I also loved the Tidy Up Your Life episode on Best Laid Plans with guest Tyler Moore which also shared lots of actionable ideas including having a decluttering calendar. Plus, I ordered the Tidy Up Your Life book and can’t wait for it to arrive!
6. Decor + Organizing
I love these scalloped baskets I just got! Not only are they cute, but they also hold a lot! Long-time readers and listeners know I love blue–so of course I loved this post on “The Top 15 French Blue Paint Colors.” Finally, here are “12 Items to Declutter that Instantly Create More Space.” (Note: I will not be decluttering any items from #6–quilts do take up a lot of space, though, lol)!
