Hello, friends! Today I’m sharing the Saturday Seven 342: Lifestyle & More for Quilters. I’ve been sewing a lot with sample yardage this week and got three projects completely finished (they will all be included in one pattern). I’m starting a quilt with this fabric today and hope to make some good progress. It’s been above 105 every day since I’ve been home from Texas, so my sewing room is a good place to be right now! I hope you’ll find helpful ideas from this week’s round-up of inspiration. Enjoy!

Saturday Seven 342: Lifestyle & More for Quilters
1. Self-Care
Finally, having a “decide once” list is a timesaver and a lifesaver–choose your own categories! And this post on “Prioritizing Life’s Greatest Pursuits” also had some good food for thought.
2. Recipes to Try
I really loved this Chicken Tortellini Pasta Salad the other day. These Grilled Cilantro Lime Shrimp Lettuce Cups look like a terrific summer lunch idea. And I also want to try these Cranberry Orange Scones soon! I’m also loving this Strawberry Summer Water (and I don’t always use all of the ingredients–sometimes just the strawberry and cucumber are enough to flavor my water).
3. Quilt + Sew
I’m so excited about the FQS Star of Wonder sew along beginning next month. For several years now I’ve sewn their mystery Christmas quilt in July and can’t wait for this year’s edition. FQS shares free patterns each week beginning in July, and you can sew along with your own fabrics or their kit. This year I’m sewing along with the FQS Kit here. (There is a backing set available too).
4. Book + Podcast Recommendations
I loved Cal Newport’s recent episode “Seinfeld and the Deep Life.” I also loved Sarah’s recent episode on Summer Ideas + Inspiration. Both of these episodes gave me ideas I can implement now.
5. Notions from the Modavation Retreat
I had such a good time at the Modavation Retreat for shop owners earlier this month and was able to come home with a swag bag of goodies. Watch the video above to see the notions I shared. (And watch for a blog post on the retreat coming soon). Find some of the notions I shared in the video linked below:
- Palette-Builder Color Tool
- Wonder Clips
- Olfa 5” Precision Applique’ Scissors
- Olfa 6” x 18” mat
- Moda 9” & 4.5” Scissors
- Clover Seam Ripper
- Magic Pins
- Clover Finger Presser
- Meori Large Utility Tote
- Sweetwater Holiday Zipper Pulls
6. Lifestyle + Home
Summer is a time when I love to refresh things around my home. I recently loved this post on “How to Achieve a Nancy Meyers Inspired Interior in Your Home.“–it gave me some fun ideas. And I just ordered this bowl for my kitchen counter–I think Nancy Meyers would approve 🙂 Also, I’ve returned home recently from two out-of-town trips and decided a larger travel toiletry bag was in order–I love this new bag I got and also appreciate how roomy it is–it will hold everything.
7. Recently on the Bog
