Hello, friends! Today I’m sharing the Saturday Seven 337: Lifestyle & More for Quilters with fun things I’ve found from around the internet this week. I hope you’ll enjoy this round-up of inspiration in a variety of categories. And I hope your weekend is off to a wonderful start.
I’ve been cleaning up and sorting in my sewing room in preparation for sample yardage arriving soon. It feels so good…and I’m super excited to begin sewing my new quilt designs later this month!
Saturday Seven 337: Lifestyle & More for Quilters
1. Self Care
Summer is just around the corner–the perfect time to freshen up our self-care routines and habits. This post with 28 Summer Self-Care Ideas is broken down into weekly themes making it easy to incorporate the activities you are interested into your schedule. I also loved these ideas for Slowing Down.
2. Recipes to Try
I can’t wait to try this Perfect Blueberry Muffin Loaf–her muffins are my absolute favorites, so I know the loaf version is going to be good! I also want to try these Shortcut Cinnamon Rolls–yum! I also want to try these Cheesy Breakfast Tacos. And on a healthier note: this Orange Balsamic Vinaigrette is perfect for your summer salads!
3. Quilt + Sew
It’s month two of the Piece and Quilt Sampler Sew Along…I’ve got to get started on this–so many beautiful blocks! And Corey shared some really fun scrappy ideas on this post. Finally…I have several scrappy Sherri & Chelsi fabric bundles in the shop now–making room for fabric arriving in my studio soon!.
4. Book + Podcast Recommendations
This week I listened to The Power of Mindset with Dr. Josh Axe Part 1 and Part 2 of the same conversation and absolutely loved both episodes. So much food for thought! And because of the podcast episodes, I’m super excited to begin the book Think This, Not That later this afternoon.
5. Spring Things…
I’ve been loving the Clean Mama Monthly Decluttering PDF’s…find the May version here. (I also love her one-page free Summer Calendar PDF. I print a couple and use one for home planning and one for summer sewing planning). These 10 Weekend Projects for Quick Decluttering are a great way to work on spring cleaning, too!
6. Quilting Life Academy: Quilting for Beginners & Beyond
I’m super excited to share that I’ll be offering a second session of my on-line Quilting Life Academy: Quilting for Beginners & Beyond. The first session wrapped up earlier this year and was a wonderful experience. I’m so appreciative of those who signed up for the inaugural course! This course is ideal for beginners, confident beginners, and even intermediate quilters who want to learn more techniques and skills. This six-week course also includes two live Q&A sessions with me. And course materials and videos are available for you to watch at any time. There are lots of terrific PDFs for getting organized and for smaller projects. Our course quilt is my Garden Stars Sampler, and you’ll also get full details for making the quilt. Registration is open now, and classes begin on Monday, June 10th!
