Hello, friends! Today I’m sharing the Saturday Seven 329: Lifestyle & More for Quilters. My Saturday posts feature a round-up of inspiring things I’ve found around the internet during the week. I hope you’ll find some wonderful ideas for your weekend and the week ahead. I’m super excited to get to do a little sewing today, too. I’m almost caught up with deadline sewing and feel like I might get several things checked off my list soon. I hope your weekend is off to a wonderful start!
Saturday Seven 329: Lifestyle & More for Quilters
1. Self-Care
One hour of solitude each week is a lovely idea–find more information for implementing this practice in this article. Also, TOAD-Time Outside After Dinner– is always good for my mind and soul!
2. Recipes to Try
I love Gaby’s method for a reverse-sear steak. And this Spring Pasta with Prosciutto & Peas looks delicious. Finally, I think I have to try these Soft Carrot Cake Cookies for Easter!
3. Quilt + Sew
These Patchwork Easter Eggs are darling. And this free beginner quilt pattern is perfect for any Layer Cake (just substitute Layer Cake squares for the panel pieces). Finally, I know St. Patrick’s Day is tomorrow, but I just saw this cute free Shamrock block! (There are also some cute project options to use with the block on the same page).
4. Book & Podcast Recommendations
I’m almost finished with Slow Productivity…it’s been such a good book! And I loved Adam Grant’s conversation with the Slow Productivity author, Cal Newport–I love both of their podcasts, so it was a real treat to have them visit together. They do disagree on some things, and it was fascinating to hear each of their ideas fully explained.
5. Organization and Productivity at Home
I just saw this article on a new-to-me cleaning schedule, and I think it looks like a great idea. And this article has so many great ideas to think about before decluttering your home.
6. March Favorites…
I just got these organizing bins for my closet and realized they would also work beautifully for organizing fabric. And this is my must-have for having enough light whenever I’m reading at night. (I Just bought a second one, so I have one in my room and in the family room).
