Hello, friends! Today I’m sharing the Saturday Seven 319: Lifestyle & More for Quilters post. In today’s post you’ll find links to inspire you in a variety of categories. I hope you’ll enjoy this week’s roundup of inspiration for the first week of the new year. At home this weekend I’ll be doing a lot of sewing. Most of it will be with our upcoming collection that we will be sharing in March. I’m really having fun sewing with this group. I’m also going to finish up the rest of my planning for the first quarter and take a couple of outdoor walks while our weather is still lovely.
Saturday Seven 319: Lifestyle & More for Quilters
1. Self-Care
I loved this list of “12 Monthly Goals to Set this Year to Create a Life You Love.” Sometimes it’s a bit overwhelming to plan for an entire year, so this monthly plan might be just what you need to make sure you carve space for yourself throughout the year.
2. Recipes to Try
I’m looking to cut down on unhealthy snacks this year, so will be trying out some new snack recipes each week. First up are these Oatmeal Breakfast Bars that you can keep in the freezer. I’m also going to try this Blueberry Smoothie recipe soon. I also want to try these Thai Chicken Lettuce Wraps for a healthy lunch option.
3. Quilt and Sew
February is just around the corner, so now is the perfect time to make this Made with Love free wall hanging from Fat Quarter Shop. I’m working on my project this weekend and will share it with you soon.
4. YouTube Saturday Sewcial
Be sure to tune in to our YouTube channel today at 10 a.m. EST for a fun Moda Blockheads Trunk show. I’ll be sharing my four finished Moda Blockheads quilts from the earlier sew along projects. I’ll also share my blocks for this year’s sew-along. In addition, I mentioned two free printables you can download here. The first one is for a Works in Progress page, and the second one is for my Monthly Block Tracker if you don’t have it already.
5. Book and Podcast Recommendations
This week I listened to two terrific beginning of the year podcast episodes. First was the Best of Both Worlds “Organize Your Life 2024″ episode which had a lot of great ideas about organizing different aspects of life, home, and work. I also enjoyed the Happier Podcast episode: “Revealed! Our “24 for 24″ Lists of 24 Big and Small Things We Want to Accomplish in 2024.” Hearing other people’s goals often inspires me to incorporate some of their ideas into my plans. Also, I’m close to finishing a couple of books, so I’ll have book recommendations next week.
6. Less is More in 2024!
I love the start of a new year. I’m an organization and planning lover, so the magic of the first week of January is never lost on me. Some people prefer the word “intentions” over goals, and this article has great ideas for “3 Ways to Set Intentions for 2024.” I’m also looking forward to some simplification this year and love this article on “7 Habits of Highly Effective Minimalists.” Even if you don’t fully embrace minimalism (which I don’t) there are some terrific ideas here.
7. Recently on the Blog

Maybe this isn’t the first of this kind of post, but it is the first one like this I have seen. It is like a recap with new stuff thrown in. I enjoyed this post where so much information is in once spot.
On your BOM 2024, you said we can ho ahead and make all of the outer star points of flying geese. I am curious if you will be doing all your outer geese points in the same fabric or not? I broke out my Happy Days FQB, and I am going to pick my fabric 12 so each outer star is a different color.
