Hello, and thank you so much for stopping by for today’s Saturday Seven 316: Lifestyle & More for Quilters post. It feels like the holidays are truly here! We finished filming and taping our final videos and podcasts for the year on Thursday, and now I’m in full holiday mode. While I still have posts to write and things to sew, there is definitely a more relaxed vibe here now that I’m fully embracing. I hope today’s ideas will help you as you lean into enjoying the final weeks of the year.
Saturday Seven 316: Lifestyle & More for Quilters
1. Self-Care
Here are ways to focus on relaxing this holiday season. And if you’re dealing with holiday burnout now or in the coming days–there are wonderful ideas for alleviating that here. I also loved these ideas for “10 Gifts to Give Yourself for the New Year.“
2. Recipes to Try
This post on How to Roast Tri Tip in the Oven also has lots of great tips for cooking meat. And this Cheesy Broccoli Chicken and Rice dish looks like the perfect comfort food for these cold winter days. I love cheese balls and jalapeno poppers, so I’m definitely going to try this Jalapeno Popper Cheese Ball. Finally, this Brown Butter Brown Sugar Shortbread looks irresistible!
3. Quilt + Sew
Years ago, Alison of Cluck, Cluck, Sew posted an adorable pillow tutorial. Now she has a free PDF available for both sizes of her Sprocket Pillows! And if you’re looking for a fast and fun Jelly Roll quilt project, this Jelly Roll Relish design from Fat Quarter Shop is a free PDF download.
4. Book & Podcast Recommendations
I recently enjoyed “From Chaos to Calm in One Day” (the timing was perfect for me right now, but this would make for a good listen any time). I also loved this podcast titled “Don’t Simplify the Holidays.”
5. Tis the Season
I loved these ideas for an Easy Christmas Candy Charcuterie Board. And here is a fun Cookie Charcuterie Board. Finally, if you’re serving Christmas Brunch, here are 61 Breakfast Ideas for an Extra Festive Morning.
6. Organization + Productivity
Here are “Twenty 2-Minute Habits to Keep Your Space and Life Organized.” And if your email inbox is a scary thing, you will definitely want to read this article. Finally, if you’d like some extra helps to get ready for your quilting and sewing next year, be sure to sign up for my daily guide below.

It’s an older Designer Mystery Quilt from Fat Quarter Shop. Not sure if they still sell the patterns.

Thanks Sherri for a year of inspiration! Your decor looks lovely. Is there a pattern for the table runner that appears in the photo under #4 “Book & Podcast Recommendations” ? Looks like one of your patterns cut on-point. Thanks!

It’s actually an older pattern from Heather Mulder Peterson. Thank you!

It was from Anthropologie. I couldn’t find it there now to link though.
