Happy Saturday! I know it’s been a little quiet on the blog here this week…we actually got some clouds and a little rain, and I spent a fair amount of time on the back patio just appreciating the cooler temps! I’ve been in the sewing room some too, though, and have a little progress to share today.
I had some Moda Candy packs of an upcoming Primitive Gatherings collection, Floral Gatherings that were just begging to be sewn into a mini quilt. This fabric collection is just so bright and happy–and thanks to my friend Linda I had the perfect pattern idea–Miss Rosie’s “Tidbit.” My mini quilt is just 12 ½″ x 15 ½″ right now, but I will be adding a light shirting outer border later. I really had fun working with the blocks that finish at 3″ (can’t believe I’m saying that, but it’s true…they were a lot of fun)! And Carrie’s pattern is terrific (as usual). If you follow her pressing directions the seams will all nest perfectly–thanks Carrie!
More Scrappy Trip Along Bee blocks arrived this week (in fact, 2 more just came today). This quilt is going to be a lot of fun!
And…after weeks of trying to decide on the “perfect” border for my scrappy butterfly quilt–I figured it out! I chose of my favorite prints from “Happy Go Lucky”–and it’s just exactly what I was looking for! I dropped this off to be quilted this morning…so I’ll be sharing the finish soon!
And…my zig zag quilt (terrific tutorial here) is quilted and ready for binding…another weekend project! This one is for a friend’s daughter…I can’t wait to give it to her!
Thanks so much for all of the very kind comments on my Gathering quilt…I truly appreciate them!
I’ll be back on Monday to share the final 3 solids blocks! Thanks so much for stopping by…and have a terrific rest of the weekend!

You always accomplish so much! We've been enjoying a little bit of cooler temps here too, and have been back to our bicycle rides in the mornings. It's just nice to be able to breath outside air!

THanks for the tip on the zig zag – what a great way to do one! And I LOVE LOVE LOVE Miss Rosie patterns… thanks for the tip on that one too! I always get such great tips and advice from you. One question – I am intrigued on the trip blocks and am trying to figure out how to do it – is it best to make sure there is a light/white strip going down the center of these blocks no matter what other colors you chose? I'm not sure how to make it so scrappy – I struggle with color selection/value etc… any hints?
