Happy Monday! I had just a little sewing time over the weekend…but it was enough for a small finish and some scrap management! I’ve been trying to get a handle on my scraps…I love them so much and want to be sure I use them!
These fabrics might look familiar, but they’re not from the older Fig Tree fabric collection Strawberry Fields…they are from the upcoming Fig Tree collection Strawberry Fields Revisited…more on that later…
I did some simple machine quilting on my Mini Vintage Tulip quilt and even got the binding made and ready to be hand stitched…I’ll share the finished mini on our parade October 1st. Remember if you’ve made or are making this quilt, Michelle and I would love to have you join in the parade!
I used 3 ½″ squares to make little pockets for the dowel so I can hang this up as soon as it is finished!
Now…back to the scraps…I had some pretty small pieces of Strawberry Fields Revisited by Fig Tree and Company from market quilts I made a couple of weeks ago. By small I mean strips about 1 ½″ wide by 3, 5, and 7 inches in length. I just couldn’t bear to thrown them out and have something in mind for them, so Saturday I sewed the bits and pieces together and now have the start of a project…
I’m not sure when I’ll get back to these, but at least they are ready to go!
I’m so in love with the new Strawberry Fields Revisited…all of my favorites from the first collection are back…and there are some fun new prints as well. Joanna has been posting pictures of the fabrics and some of the new quilts on her Instagram, and as soon as she does the full reveal of the projects I worked on I’ll share them with you.
It was definitely a quality weekend in the sewing room…just a little bit of time spent equaled a lot of fun! Hope you got to sew this weekend!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
I'm not sure if it's more fun to keep scraps in a collection, or mix them in amongst my serious scrap stash. I do love to happen onto a favorite scrap as I sift through the bins, and remember past projects as much as continuing the story of the fabric line by itself. Either way, you got to do some fun sewing!

Love, love your mini tulip quilt. It too is in my pile of 'to-do' patterns :)! I've been sewing little mugs for a wall hanging from Lori Holt's new pattern. It has been so much fun fussy-cutting for them. Looking forward to your project finish from the new 'Strawberry Fields Revisited' Fabric. That fabric looks 'delicious'!

Your little tulip quilt is lovely! Thanks for sharing!
Such a fun way to be sure the scraps don't float off. Looking forward to how your going to use them!

Love the term "scrap management"! I made the large Tulip quilt… I need to make a mini too… yours is so cute!
Love your Tulip mini and the binding you choose is perfect! I still have some old Strawberry Fields and can't wait to get some of the 'new' one! Love the grey/black Joanna added and my favorite Fig Tree print is back (the one with the bloom), yeah! Love your scrappy strips and you can always make a tablerunner or small table topper with them (or wait for some more fabrics).

This is soooo cute (the tulips) so sweet.
I really really need to tame my scraps.
One day…. right now, I am wading through, picking out stuff I want to give away.
Then I will deal with the remains.
I love mixing fabric lines. It is fun to put different patterns together.
Sharing the cuteness all matchy/matchy

Does it happen often that a collection is revisited by a designer. I know I'm hearing people talk about wishing a certain collection would be reprinted. Is it for the benefit of newbies like myself to get some of the older fabrics. Just interested in the process
Glad to hear you got a little sewing time! Scraps are wonderful things – I like to challenge myself to use as many tiny pieces as I can, look forward to seeing what you do with yours 🙂
