Hello and happy Saturday! I was planning on posting this Monday, but I have so many things I need to share in the next week that I decided to add in a weekend post. I’m happy to be able to share the final two blocks with you today for the 2017 Quilting Life Mystery Block of the Month! And I’m a month early with the final block! There were two blocks released last month, and I’m also releasing two blocks this month; this makes a total of 13 blocks, and you’ll need the extra block if you are doing the on-point setting.
I’m planning on getting my blocks set together next week, and as soon as my
top is finished I’ll post the fabric requirements for finishing (I’ll let you know here on the blog when those are available and will also post them on the Block of the Month home page).
Then, during the first week of December I’ll be able to share my quilt and finishing details.
The November one is a super simple one…flying geese! Use as many different prints as you’d like!
And the December block is a lot of fun, too. I actually had four of the half-square triangles for this block that were already in my bin…sewn from left-overs from a previous block!
I can hardly wait to set my blocks together. I ended up with quite a few of the low-volume prints from my fat eighth bundle of this fabric that were never used, so I think I’ll be using them for a scrappy low-volume sashing…
Get the November block PDF here, and get the December block PDF here.
Finishing instructions coming next month…or sooner if I work fast next week! Also, I’ll definitely be doing a block of the month program for next year…I’m still working out the details and will have that ready to go in early January.
Happy quilting, and thanks so much for stopping by!

Thank you for releasing the December block early. There are so many quilt/sew alongs that go from January to December that the following January you are left with all of them to choose from. I find it so overwhelming. Now I can complete all my blocks during the week before Thanksgiving when my school is closed and be ahead of the game! I appreciate that you think of your blog readers.

Thank you so much for all of your work on this, esp posting early! Mine is to become a Christmas gift so planning on finishing it up this week so I can move on to other things. But–am I correct in noting that the 4 3X3" squares in the background fabric have been left off of the cutting directions December block? (For the HST units) Putting mine together now and had to go back and cut more–or maybe I missed something?
