Hello and happy Tuesday! Thanks so much for your patience while I got the finishing instructions together for this year’s mystery block of the month! I wanted to double and triple check my math 🙂
While I haven’t had time yet to start setting my blocks together, everything is
ready for you to start finishing your quilts! I ended up with several light and low-volume fat eighths from my bundle that I never even cut into, so I’m ironing them up and will use them for a scrappy low-volume sashing. I’ll be using one fabric for the posts to unify the quilt since I’m doing the scrappy sash. If you are using one fabric for your sashing I think it would be fun to use a variety of fabrics for the setting posts.
I have two different setting options: a straight set quilt and an on-point quilt. The on-point quilt will require a bit more fabric because of the setting triangles, so I’m using the straight set for my quilt.
Here is the straight set version…
And here is the on-point version! I love them both! I really am hoping to get my blocks set together this week (I’ll share on the blog and also update this post with a picture–but I didn’t want you to wait any longer since I know many of you are hoping to finish up by the end of the year)!
NOTE: Be sure to download your finishing instructions and any block patterns you need by the end of the year. (I’ll be taking them down and compiling them into a pattern for sale in my pattern shops in January). I’ll also be starting a new free mystery block of the month program for next year…stay tuned!
Go here to download the finishing instructions! (Please don’t print off extra copies–I would love it if you would send your friends over to my site to print the copies themselves…thank you for understanding)! Also, links to all of the posts are on the Block of the Month homepage (click on any month you need a pattern for and it will take you to the original page).
And…don’t forget that the Fat Quarter Shop Christmas sale is still going on with new deals every day! Go here to shop!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Thanks, Sherri, for the 2017 BOM quilt. I have had so much fun putting the blocks together, and I'm looking forward to the 2018 BOM. This year I did my blocks totally scrappy. Next year I'm thinking I might use a more "controlled" color palette. Thanks again, and Merry Christmas!

I also went completely scrappy in an effort to make a small dent in my stash. It’s already quilted, wrapped and soon to be in the mail to surprise someone this Christmas. I would love to see everyone else’s quilts. Thank you for all your work to share it and I’m looking forward to doing another next year as it’s been fun and a great way to work on christmas gifts!

I will admit when this BOM first came out I passed until I saw it after being put together. So this morning I wanted to print out the pattern. I got most printed but April,May, June, and Sept. come up as blank pages. I have tried from both the home page for each block and also from the page you set up with all the blocks. Hope you can help me! Thanks

I had a Bonnie and Camille fat eighth bundle and used most of it. I also used some B and C scraps. I’ll be using some B and C yardage for finishing. It’s a great quilt, but I don’t think I’ll get to finish it until after the holidays. Thanks for doing this BOM. It was fun and a good way for me to use these bundles I buy because I like them, not with any quilt in mind. Looking at my stash, I need about 6 more BOM projects? do you have an Instagram # for finished quilts?

Thank you Sherri – for all your time and work with this BOM – and for sharing the two layout versions. Now to decide how to finish mine :)!
