Happy Tuesday! Today’s post is kind of a Quilt Market continuation…I thought you might want to see what I purchased at Sample Spree.
Sample Spree is an evening event at quilt market where manufacturers and designers sell their products (often at wholesale or below) to shop owners and attendees so that samples can be made before the fabrics arrive in stores (often several months later).
I do need to preface this purchases post by letting you know two things: first, our fabric, “Bright Sun,” didn’t make it to Sample Spree. We were told that morning that it had arrived in Dallas just that day…in fact…I still haven’t seen a bundle…but I will share a photo as soon as it arrives! If “Bright Sun” had been available I definitely would have purchased some for family and friends! Second, the Fig Tree collection “Farmhouse” is one of my all-time favorites; it was at Sample Spree, but since I have left-overs from my market sewing and will be getting some more later, I didn’t purchase that either (although it was really tempting).
So…the first bundle I had on my list was the new Minick & Simpson collection “Polka Dots & Paisley’s.” I absolutely love Minick & Simpson fabric. After making a king-sized quilt from my stash last summer, my supply of their fabrics was dwindling…so now I have a new bundle to add to the mix!
Next up is “Prairie” by Corey Yoder. Corey’s fabrics are as sweet as she is…and her yellows and pinks and aquas coordinate beautifully with “Bright Sun.” So I definitely can do some scrappy projects combining our fabrics…yay!
“Canyon” by Kate Spain was my next purchase. I always love Kate’s fabrics, and I also have a scrappy project in the works with pieces from all of her collections.
Finally, I picked up the “Simply Color” bundles in yellow and orange because I don’t typically buy those colors. So these two bundles were definitely stash builders…smaller bundles just perfect to add to the mix.
Hope you have a wonderful day! Thanks so much for stopping by!
