Hello and Happy Monday! It has been a very hot weekend with above normal temperatures even for us and high heat warnings almost every day. That made it a good thing to stay in doors and spend some time getting a little organized.
One thing that got set aside with all of my market rush preparations was my
Splendid Sampler blocks. The Splendid Sampler project has been a great project to have because there really is no pressure to stay caught up…it’s a journey, not a race! There are a few other projects I’ve fallen a bit behind on, but this one was an easy one to pick up again after a few weeks off.
So, I picked a couple of easy blocks I had missed to ease back into sewing. First I made Amy Ellis’s block, Simple Surprises. This was a fast and fun block…
Block 21, Sweet Candy, designed by Kris Thurgood, was another quick one I made…
I think it was good to make a couple of blocks to get me back into working on this project. I’ve printed off some of the others I’ve fallen behind on and hope to make 3 or 4 of them this week.
Just getting them out and looking at them all together is pretty good motivation to keep working on these!
What have you been sewing on recently?
Thanks so much for stopping by!

I love your pretty blocks and I'm behind too so I need to play catch-up too! I'm working on my Stars&Stripes quilt and then I need to decide on fabrics for your Star Bright mini. My LQS has some Little Ruby in and I couldn't resist. Let's see what I'll pick!

I love your fabrics! I'm also behind on my Splendid Sampler blocks. I needed to make a table runner for a gift and must work on a baby quilt before the baby is here! While I'm cutting out the baby quilt, I might cut out some of the SS blocks. After the cutting I get to piece on my new sewing machine!! Yeah!

That's a lovely pile of blocks. I finished a quilt, went digging through my time out box for a work in progress that might give me a spark. Worked on one for a half a day, then pulled out another one that just needed a border. Funny thing? Border was already completed, just needed to be sewn on. It's now basted waiting for me to be sure about how I want to quilt it. Bonus? Left over border made a cool coin quilt wall hanging. Love it when the fabric sings to you.
