Happy Friday! So yesterday I took the day and made something that wasn’t on my “to make this summer” list…
Camille of Thimbleblossoms posted a new “Stars and Stripes” quilt this week on Instagram, and I resisted at first. But then my daughter Chelsi took the day Monday and made one using just Desert Bloom fabrics…
that was all it took. I didn’t have a free day until Thursday when I started making blocks. They go together quickly and easily. I decided to use all three of our fabric collections for my quilt…
I used backgrounds from Bright Sun, Valley, and Desert Bloom. All of the navy red, and aqua prints are from Desert Bloom.
That wildflower print in Desert Bloom is sure a favorite…
I’m sending this off to be quilted today so it can be home for the 4th of July!
So…I didn’t get to my “to do” list yesterday, but at least I have something fun for my excuse!
Oh, and you can find the Stars and Stripes pattern here.
Thanks so much for stopping by…have a wonderful weekend!

Oh, I love your quilt! Camille was so sweet and send me the pattern as a suprise gift (thanks Camille you'r ethe best) but I need a few more fabrics for it! I'v eseen taht my LQS has some Valley prints and I'll go there next week and have a look. Perhaps some more B&C fabrics and a good aqua print (I've seen an aqua one with stars how perfect would this be?) and then I'll make one 'Stars and Stripes' for me too:-)

I think it was cool you were able to use your own fabric lines for this top! Very nice 🙂

I am in the process of putting the sashing on mine also. I am using darker "primitive" reds, blues, and off-white from my vintage 90's stash. For the aqua, I am using a print from Lori Holt's Calico Days and I am SOOOO pleased! Like you, this was not on my "list" of projects…but, a girls gotta do, what a girls gotta do! I thought we were way past peer pressure? Nope…not when it comes to cute quilts. I will post on Instagram when I'm done.
