Hello! Happy December 22nd! I can’t believe we are three days away from Christmas, but here we go, right…ready or not!
This gorgeous red and green bundle has been begging to be made into something for the last month or so…and I think I might be able to get enough done today so I can at least make a test block tomorrow…it’s okay to start a Christmas project for next year now, right?
I did finish up my final four gifts…four fun table runners made with Juniper
Berry by Basic Grey. The prints were so much fun to sew with…I wish my photos did them a little more justice–it was really cloudy here yesterday when I took the pictures.
I assembly-line sewed all four of them…so the tops are nearly identical (although I did use two different backings and two different bindings). I was lucky to be able to get them quilted, and then watched a little television while I did the bindings.
I do have a couple of things I could still make…but at some point I know I have to just say, “I’ve done enough, and it’s okay.” I’m glad I made bags and small projects throughout the year so I had a little stock-pile of gifts ready before the season arrived. I do like doing Christmas sewing during the holiday, but I also like being able to slow down a little and enjoy the season…
So…here’s to slowing down and truly appreciating the season!

I believe Juniper Berry is my favorite line of Christmas fabric. Have stock piled a huge stash of it to make my sister a Christmas quilt. I really like your table runners.

How do you get all of this done plus everything else you do?? Amazing. Merry Christmas, Sherri!

Yes, time to put your feet up before the rest of the holidays begin. I just finished some Autumn quilts. I thought I might get them done before the US Thanksgiving 🙂 – since I was too late for the Canada one, but they are ready for the next one. Yay! I too am only sewing some not needed fun blocks in between the rest of the Christmas preparations. Merry Christmas to you and your family, Sherri!

Your table runners are beautiful and the recipients will love them!
It's a great idea to make at least one project each month to give away on christmas perhaps I should do that next year.

It's never too early to start a Christmas item and it's never too late to finish one. Late gifts are surprise gifts that are loved by most people.

Hi Sherri,
Your table runners are beautiful and the sashing really sets them off. Could you post what pattern you used so I can see the whole runner???
Thanks!!!!!

Yes…starting for next year is allowed! I have a few pieces of that Berry line so it is fun to see yours all made up with all the fun prints. I finally started on some Christmas cooking this morning, finally getting a batch of caramels made. Not much sewing, though!
