Hello, friends! Well, Moda Blockheads 6 is winding down, and I’m sharing a Moda Blockheads 6 Setting Idea. A couple of weeks ago I finally decided on what to do with my blocks and also shared an alternate block 23. I have that available as a free PDF download now. And I’ve also got my setting idea available as a PDF download here. You’ll find all of these details in today’s post.

Moda Blockheads 6 Setting Idea
I decided to use just the 9″ finished blocks for my quilt which necessitated my extra block idea from a couple of weeks ago. This gave me 20 blocks for a 4 x 5 setting. I wanted to use a simple sashing technique that would also make this project a quick finish. I haven’t started sashing my blocks yet, but I’m going to use a variety of low volume prints for my sashing pieces which I think will give my quilt a fun and even more scrappy look. Here are the details for my alternate setting:
- This quilt will make a nice lap-sized quilt at 53 ½″ x 64 ½″
- Use 1-⅜ yards for sashing and inner border if using a single fabric. Otherwise, I suggest about 2 yards of scraps.
- I’m going to add an outer border–you’ll need ⅞ yard for that.
- You’ll also need ½ yard of binding.

What’s Next!
I’m going to start cutting sashing pieces from my scrap bin for this quilt right away and get it put together as soon as possible. (I’m hoping to have it done in the next week or so). And I’m also thinking of using something soft for the back so that it will be a perfect cozy quilt! I’m also working on finishing up my 2025 block of the month and getting all of the details ready to share with you for my 2026 mystery BOM. I’ll definitely keep you posted on this!
Happy quilting.
