Happy Saturday! How do you feel about mini quilts? I know they have been a favorite of mine since I began quilting about 24 years ago…
They work wonderfully as pillow tops, wall hangings, and table toppers, and since they are quick to finish you also get a real sense of accomplishment pretty quickly! When I visited with Kimberly at Fat Quarter Shop last March we filmed
a little video where I share my mini quilts. Since I haven’t shared it here yet, I thought I would share today! Enjoy!
Also…there is still time to enter the giveaway Fat Quarter Shop is having for a kit to make the mini DayBreak quilt shown in the video. Head over here to enter!
Have a wonderful weekend! Thanks so much for stopping by!

you are seriously one of my favorite quilters! have learned so much from you! in the video you can just see your love for quilting 🙂 I haven't made a mini ever yet, everytime I have time to sew I just make a block to hopefully finish another quilt soon 🙂 but seeing all yours, I might have to just cave in and do one!

I find that mini quilts are also a great way to work on FMQ or regular quilting skills but to create some new design idea. I have made several minis for swaps embellished with buttons, ribbon, lace and charms. I have an idea in my mind and I work it out in my minis.

Love mini quilts! They are fast, don't use soooo much fabrics and are cute:-)

I have only made huge quilts and they are getting overwhelming and take too long. I am taking care of mom and dad (93 year olds) and I have very little time to finish things.
I think I have reached a point where I should make mini quilts
Sheri you are the best

I have decided that I have way to many larger quilts, and they usually are not displayed as often as they should be. For the past few years I have been leaning towards the smaller quilts, and minis and they are SO FUN!
Love your collections too.

fun and yes you do feel like you have accomplished something with them being
smaller.. Love your blog – wonderful ideas you share. Thanks for all..

I love minis! I tend to paper piece them because the little pieces can be mind numbing in a beautiful sort of way 😉

Great videos with the FQS. I hope you do more in the future. You and Kimberly have great chemistry, and it's fun to see your patterns highlighted.
