Hello and happy Tuesday! Welcome to the first Mini Quilts and More parade of 2018! (If you are new here or aren’t sure about how to participate in this monthly parade, be sure to read the information at the bottom of this post).
Since December was such a busy month, we asked everyone to share a favorite
handmade gift–so we’ve got a fun variety to share today! First up are these gorgeous pillows made by Brenda. She made these pillows for her mom, two sisters, and brother, and the hexagons in the pillows are made from her grandmother’s fabrics. I love these pillows, and their story (read more about them here).
Of course I love the original version of this pattern, too…
And just look at her darling labels for the backs…another great idea! Thank you for sharing Chris!
Hildy made all of the Moda Bakeshop Christmas blocks and already has her quilt put together and quilted…beautiful! Hildy also has a project over on Michele’s post!
Finally, I love this table runner made by Melanie! It’s my favorite size runner and uses such cute fabrics! Read more about her table runner here.
Now, you’ll need to visit Michele over at Island Life Quilts to see the rest of this month’s parade!
If you’re wondering about this post, Mini Quilts and More day
is a monthly blog series where I share several versions of small
projects at or around the first of each month. My friend Michele of
Island Life Quilts takes part in this series each month and posts half
of the photos we receive. We announce a new project for the following
month on parade day and wait for the photos to come in! Seeing the different versions gives us all inspiration and ideas…it’s been a lot of fun! To participate, simply make the pattern we announce on parade day, and email a photo of your finish by the last day of the month to me if your first name begins with the letters A-K and to Michelle if your name begins with the letter L-Z.
Next month’s pattern is the mini Hometown quilt. This little quilt works great as a pillow or as a table topper or mini wall quilt! Everyone who participated in our parade today and on December first will be getting this pattern emailed to them as a thank you for participating in our parades! I can’t wait to see all of the fun versions of this quilt next month!
Happy quilting, and thanks so much for stopping by!

Wow, Breand was really busy and her pillows are amazing.
And Chris was with her pillows too it seams pillows as gifts are always a great idea. I see a house pillow in my future.
Melanie's table runner turned out great just love the B&C fabric.
Thanks for the love for my quilt it was so fun to make it I love 6" block sampler quilts.
And yeah for your pattern for next month I don't have that one yet and I'm already playing around with ideas.
The new year starts great and I hope it's a wonderful one for you:-)

Where can I find the house pattern that Chris used for the pillows? Like you, I'd love to make those for gifts for next Christmas!

Thanks so much Sherri for hosting the parade, its so inspiring to see the creative works of others! Also, thank you for the pattern! I was so surprised. 🙂 Now I will have to get busy and make a mini to *hopefully* complete by the end of the month. 🙂
I noticed that Kimberly asked about the pattern…here is the info for the free pattern I used. Moda Cutting Table, Christmas Village, July 2017. I actually saw this first on another blogger's site, Nicole at Sister's choice Quilts. sisterschoice.typepad.com She did a beautiful table topper that inspired me to do the pillows. See Nov.20,2017 and Jan.2, 2018 posts.
Happy New Year!!! 🙂
