I’ve always loved to make lists…I have lists of works in progress, lists of things I want to make, and yes, I’ve even started my Christmas project list! Sometimes, though, the lists get a little too long for my comfort level…and I need to finish up some things and check them off! Saturday was that kind of a day…I set out to finish 10 works in progress…I only finished eight, but I feel a lot better!
My first finish was to bind my “Jelly Parfait” quilt…one of my favorite quilts ever! Not only do I love this because it’s a scrappy version (I used fabrics from 3 Fig Tree lines, Mill House Inn, Fresh Cottons, and Breakfast at Tiffany’s), but I also love it because the quilting on it is stunning! Diana, who does all of the amazing quilting for Joanna did the long-arm work on this quilt (you can contact Diana about her quilting at QuiltedGrammy@aol.com).
I then set out to complete three bags…first was a Verna bag that I’d started awhile ago. I usually make fabric handles but have been loving purse handles lately (you can find the purse handles here). You can sew them on by machine or by hand…I actually sewed mine on by hand using a double strand of matching quilting thread.
I also made a bag using Breakfast at Tiffany’s…I love the rich colors of these fabrics…the combination of the blues and browns are my favorites! Again I used a purse handle, which I love!
Also finished up my end of summer bag using Meadowsweet 2.
(Another picture of the same bag…had to show both sides)!
And while I was working with Meadowsweet 2…I decided to finish up an apron…
I made it reversible with fabrics from the first Meadowsweet on the other side. So…one quilt bound, borders and backs on another, three bags and an apron…oh, and I sewed another quilt back (not pictured). With these finishes checked off–I think I’m going to start a few more projects–that’s okay, right?! Have a great day!

Wow! Look at you! I'm amazed with all that you've accomplished. It puts me to shame. lol. I will have to head downstairs to my craft room and get started on my list. It's a long list too!
I love every picture you took and the quilts and purses are amazingly cute and yes, the apron is twice as cute being that it's doublesided.
Bravo!!! Applause!!!

I think everyone should take a "crack" at their list…if they have one. I know I've been steadfast on mine this month and I'm checking things off one by one with a big fat CHECKMARK.
You go, Sherri. I am looking at all your great photos – MORE than once because you're so inspiring.
And, the apron – well I am IN LOVE with it…both sides.
trish says
Your sewing is all so beautiful. I adore your apron! I had to take a second look, since you mentioned it is reversible. And your purses … precious!! :o)
I think I may have mentioned about my bartering button before, but if I can create something special for you, for Christmas gifts, I would be happy to do so. We can work out a little trade and you will have a beautiful gift for your list. :o) No pressure. :o)
I hope you are having a nice start to your week. :o)
Sincerely ~ Trish

Yeah, I think we're all blown away right now. Congrats on all your finishes. They're all beautiful and I know that must feel wonderful to get some checked off your list. I was just telling my husband the same thing last night (that my stress level is always just a little high because I always have like 10 projects just stirring in the back of my mind. I really want to get some of my older one's finshed!) I guess a better way to say it is just that "I have more projects than I'm comfortable with!" 🙂

Love all the projects, i am starting a Fig tree pattern, Vanilla and Blooms using Breakfast and Tiffany and Fresh Cotton, maybe I'll track down some Millhouse or another early line to mix in too. And i finally broke down looking at all these went for Meadowsweet.
Madame Samm says
Love your projects lists Sherry and that you complete them…I am afraid I don't make lists because I only ever have one thing on my to do list…Choose a project, do the project, complete the project and onto the next one…I just completed a 94 inch runner, hand quilted it in less than 2 weeks..now off to my next project, something PURE lol…just love your stamina, your sense of style…I need some of DAT…blessings ms

Hi Sherri!
8 out of 10 is great! I love the quilting on 'Jelly Parfait', too. It's perfect for the quilt!
I know why you're in love with the handles ;o). I've spotted some red/white polka dot faux leather handles in an online quilt shop (in Germany) – I so have to try these for a bag for myself ;o).
Hugs, Julia
P.S.: I have given my first quilt to a longarmer so I've two questions, if you don't mind…a) how long did your longarm quilter need to quilt this custom quilted gem? b) how much did she charged you for this (I'm just curious to compare prices).
Diane says
Love, love, love that meadowsweet quilt… just saying!
