Happy Thursday! I’ve been slowly changing out quilts in my home…pulling out some of my favorite spring designs to display. Last night as I was pulling out one of my favorites I realized that many of you have probably never seen this quilt. It’s one that I love and that I can’t wait to see every year!
It’s definitely the perfect quilt to post for a “throw-back Thursday” kind of day! This quilt uses the Terrain collection by Kate Spain for Moda fabrics. I sewed three quilts with this group and still have an untouched fat quarter bundle of it on my shelf!
Judi Madsen of Green Fairy Quilts did the incredible quilting on this one! It is truly a work of art! In fact, somewhere in my files I have a picture of Judi and I together in front of this quilt at quilt market. This was also the first quilt I ever made that displayed in the Moda fabrics booth area.
I’m grateful I made a label for this one. I never would have imagined this was all the way back from 2011. Some things truly never go out of style. I love displaying this quilt in my home!
And this border fabric…it’s still one of my very favorite prints!
Ahhh…I just love this quilt! I think I should start pulling out more quilts from the past to share on Thursdays, don’t you?!

Thanks so much for stopping by…and happy quilting!

Is this pattern really Terrain. There is no Stepping Stone pattern on the site.

Terrain is my favorite Kate Spain line. I still have a layer cake waiting for the perfect project.

Oh, and for Linda, if you click on the graphic that says Terrain, you will see that the name of the quilt is Stepping Stones; Terrain is just the name of the fabric line.

Thank you so much for sharing! I love the bright spring feel. It was 70 degrees here in Indiana today. You quilt was the cherry on top of the sundae. 🙂

Such a beautiful quilt!! I have some of that fabric too, but I discovered it a bit after the line came out, so I don't have all of the pieces, but I did get some of the large floral prints with the idea of making a little girls dress. I may need to make that pattern though with what I do have and add some other brights: it's just a gorgeous pattern! Hugs, H

I can certainly see why this quilt is a favorite – it's beautiful. Love Kate Spain fabrics and this pattern is perfect for her layer cake. Thanks for the share.

I might need to make this quilt… Just add it to the ever lengthening list! I love the secondary pattern created by the blocks. The fabrics ARE beautiful, I will be picking through scraps to have enough to make this quilt, but what fun!

This quilt is so gorgeous and so "my colors", I'm not sure I could ever put it away. I only discovered Kate Spain a year or so ago after being away from quilting for a long time. Sad to see what beautiful lines I missed.

Beautiful quilt! You wouldn't want to sell me your extra fats Quarter Bundle. If you want to part with it. I would love it.
