I finished row 5 of the Bee In My Bonnet Row Along…Lori had a fast and easy method for making these cute little flying geese that finish at 1″ x 2″.
And now I have 5 happy rows. Lori just posted the cutest teacups today for row 6, so I’ll be making those this week for sure!
My Stems quilt came back from the quilter the other day…I had thought about a scrappy binding and had even thought about using a green to bind it…
But in the end a red polka dot binding seemed like the perfect finish to this quilt!
This one is for me…is it selfish to be so happy about that? I do love gifting my quilts, but I do also know that I love this quilt. A lot. I first pieced samples of this pattern for Joanna nearly 2 years ago…and I’m just so happy to finally have my own! (The stems are made with the green polka dot from Ruby, petals are all from Marmalade, and the red polka dot binding is from Vintage Modern–all collections by Bonnie & Camille for Moda).
I’m spending some time today getting some things ready to send off to the Superstorm Sandy victims. I know I probably should have done this earlier, but it’s been weighing on my mind much this week, so I’m going to make it a priority today. I have a quilt top and back I’m going to donate to a local group to tie, and then I’m also going to pick out a couple of my finished quilts to send.
If you’re looking for information on how to donate to the Sandy relief efforts, there is a great post here on the Moda Cutting Table Blog.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!

Love that red polka dot binding! Are you using Marmalade for the rowalong too? I think you mentioned it before, but I forgot. Love your colors!

Your row by row is so gorgeous – better get my skates on and catch up. And that red polka dot finishes the stem quilt beautifully – no way I could part with that one!

You have such beautiful projects. I'm going to try to contribute some blocks for the Sandy victims. I am so busy at work I won't have time to make a full quilt.
