I’ve been following Amanda’s Finish it Up Friday’s posts and thought today would be a good day to join in! First I finished up my “Make it Do” pillow that I started over a year ago!
The stitchery is a Sarah Jane pattern and has actually been finished for quite awhile. I waited to finish up the top until I could get some of Aneela’s Sew Stitchy fabric…it went perfectly with the embroidery floss I used.
Now I have to say that I really, really wanted this to be a wall hanging, but there is kind of a slight bubble in the center of the stitchery…I wish I had just done an all-over cross-hatch design with a clear thread. Instead, I tried to do a little hand quilting and have the outer borders machine quilted; in hindsight I think I should have hand basted the entire center to keep it completely flat while the machine work was done. If anyone has any suggestions on quilting projects with embroidery in the center, I’d love to hear them…I have other embroidery/quilting projects I’d love to make but don’t want to have to turn them all into pillows!
I made a zipper pillow back this afternoon with a flap covering. I used this Sew Mama Sew tutorial and love how it turned out..
You can see a peek of the backing I used when I thought this was going to be a wallhanging. I thought the panel section from Aneela’s Sew Stitchy would make the cutest back; now, it’s hidden inside the pillow. I am still half-tempted to frame this and try to stretch out the little bubble in the middle…but it’s okay as a pillow for now.
I also finished up my row 6 for Lori’s Row Along…these are the cutest and easiest cups I’ve ever pieced!
I love the way this quilt is coming together!
Each and every cup is my favorite!
It’s always fun to pull out all the rows and look at them together! I know I’m going to love this quilt! It’s not too late to join in the fun!
Thanks so very much for stopping by! I appreciate your patience with me…I’m a little behind on e-mails but will get caught up this weekend!
Have a great day!

such a cute pillow! You are so productive, Sherri and such an inspiration.
I did make a skirt for my daughter yesterday and another easy one for her just this afternoon. Both for her birthday tomorrow. Time to pack up this room now and get it moved to new house.

Very cute pillow, Sherri.
Love your rows! I was chatting with a friend today about Lori's row along. I haven't been participating but it's getting harder and harder to avoid. LOL

Cute pillow!!!

Your embroidery is perfect and that pillow is gorgeous Sherri! On the two quilts I made with embroidered blocks, it was necessary to quilt right up to the embroidery to avoid a bubble.
I don't know if I can stay away from the Row Along after seeing your beautiful rows…

Pretty, pretty pillow and such a neat zipper. Love the coffee mugs. I think I have an old Debbie Mumm pattern like it. It's fun how things come back in vogue…I've noticed row by row quilts and round robbins are back from my early quilting days. Makes me want to grab a stack of my old quilt books and look through them again. :o) Have a terrific weekend.
