Happy National Quilting Day! I hope you get to spend some quality time working on a project you love today! I recently finished my “Spell it with Fabric” quilt from the Moda quilt along. Well, it’s almost finished…all that I have left to do is hand-stitch my binding.
This quilt has been so much fun…I know I’ve shared the blocks along the way, but you know, the quilt just comes to life once it’s quilted!
I do have some favorite letters and some favorite blocks. And I do love the bubble quilting that adds a touch of whimsy to this quilt!
It was fun to add in the extra blocks, too. I think the flying geese in navy is one of my favorites in the quilt!
And I decided to use the bias navy stripe from April Showers for the binding. Because I’m seriously in love with that fabric right now.
I have quite a list of quilting projects I hope to work on today; after all, it is National Quilting Day!
Thanks so much for stopping by.
PS Congratulations to Becky who won the $50 gift certificate giveaway from Fort Worth Fabric Studio.

I like how your quilt turned out. I'm with you on the bias striped binding. I almost always make a bias binding and whenever I can I use a striped fabric. In fact I buy stripes with the notion that they will end up as binding. And about bindings, I see that you also are one who feels the need to hand stitch the binding down. To sit with the bulk of the quilt over you and in your lap as you stitch. My last finishing ritual is to sleep under the quilt, even if it's a wall hanging (I guess in cases it's sleep with!). Either before or after I wash it, depending on how long it's taken to finish and how much my cat has helped, particular with the binding. Okay, guess I just finished vicariously binding a quilt. Now I can rest for the day.
Seriously, it's a very nice job and I like your accents and use of color.

Great job on the alphabet quilt! And you can't go wrong with Bonnie and Camille fabric, in my opinion. Yesterday I cut fabric for 2 quilts, made 12 9-patch blocks for a baby quilt and just finished piecing the other quilt top! Now back to adding sashing and borders to the baby quilt. I was determined to make good use of National Quilting Day!
