Hello and happy Friday! Today’s favorites post is all about some favorite fabrics…and some favorite notions!

Fat quarters of our Desert Bloom fabric always make me smile…it was fun to get

this bundle in the mail the other day.  I picked out some of my favorites from the collection for the Southern Fabric “Sew-lebrity” bundle in December, and was surprised to receive my own package!

One of my favorite mini quilts is this pieced mini tumbler quilt I made at a retreat a few summers ago. At the time I purchased the pre-cut tumbler shapes and had a lot of fun making this little wall-hanging which hangs in my family room.

But lately I’ve been wanting to make another version with brighter fabrics, and so I found this mini tumbler template by Miss Rosie’s Quilt Company that will allow me to make tumblers the same size (1 ¾″ cut). I can’t wait to get started. I think I will get a bunch cut out and leave them next to my machine for a “leaders and enders” project.

One more picture of my traditional mini tumbler quilt…I really like the orange peel quilting on it and think I’ll use the same design for quilting on the new one!

Another favorite this week was my #Sew Sampler box that arrived from Fat Quarter Shop. As soon as I started looking through the box I realized their theme was primarily a “back to basics” supply kit for January.

It’s nice to inventory and make sure your supplies are well-stocked at the beginning of a year…and this box of goodies will help me do just that. There are applique’ needles, a new rotary blade, a thread cutter, a bag of textile soak (wash), a charm pack of the Kona cotton solid of the year–Pink Flamingo, a charm pack pattern by It’s Sew Emma, and a cute quilt block recipe card!
