One of my favorites this week is actually a book I am honored to present: it’s a compilation of fifteen different scrap quilts by a great group. I’m honored to have been asked to contribute a quilt for the book. Scraps, Inc.Vol.1: 15 Block-Based designs for the Modern Quilter
was introduced at Quilt Market in Houston, and so I can finally share my quilt.
My friend Natalia of Piece ‘N Quilt did the amazing quilting. My challenge was to quilt with scraps, and I ended up being rather successful until I had to buy a quarter yard to have enough of the binding fabric I wanted to use.

Another favorite book from market is Handfuls of Scraps – Pieced into Amazing Quilts
This book is written by the lovely Edyta Sitar and is a real treasure. It’s available now and is another “must have” book for scrap quilt lovers. Not only does this book include beautiful projects for using scraps, but it also contains lovely photos of antique scrap quilts for inspiration.
Finally…I’m making a quilt from my book C&T Publishing Fresh Family Traditions: 18 Heirloom Quilts for a New Generation
with my treasured Vintage Modern fabrics. I’ll share more on this quilt soon, but I had to include it today because…well…these fabrics are definitely favorites even though they are a few years old…and the pattern, “Century Farm” really is my favorite “fast to make” quilt for a layer cake.

I have a few Vintage Modern prints in my stash and they're much treasured, too. Perhaps Moda should reprint some loved colletions … pretty please:-)

I will definitely have to have this book! Vintage Modern is my favorite B&C line. I've used it a lot and still have an abundance in my stash! I look forward to seeing your completed quilt.
