Hello and happy Tuesday! Today I’m sharing my favorite red, white and blue quilts! I’ve been making one or two quilts using my favorite red, white and blue fabrics each year for quite a few years now, and I have a good little collection I use to decorate with from Memorial Day through Labor Day!
I took new photos of all of them to share before doing my decorating this year! I

sure do love these quilts, and I know summer has definitely arrived once I bring them out each year! First up is my scrappy log cabin quilt. This was a fun exchange project I did a couple of summers ago…you can read more about it here.
Another one of my favorite red, white, and blue quilts is my scrappy Nested Churn Dash made with all Minick & Simpson fabrics from my stash. This is a king-sized beauty! I just wish it were cool enough here in the summer that we could actually use it for other than decoration! Read more about my scrappy Churn Dash quilt here.
My Hometown Summer quilt made with the original Prairie Paisley collection was one of my earliest published quilts…it was a Moda Bakeshop project for the book Sweet Celebrations with Moda Bakeshop Chefs: 35 Projects to Sew from Jelly Rolls, Layer Cakes, Fat Quarters, Charm Squares & More.
And this is another published quilt…it’s called and is found in the book Block-Buster Quilts – I Love Nine Patches: 16 Quilts from an All-Time Favorite Block.
This one is quilt from a few years back…I can’t remember the pattern I used, but the fabric is from one of the first Minick & Simpson collections I purchased, Nantucket (and it may be their first if not one of their earliest collections).
This quilt is from a Fat Quarter Shop pattern and is pieced with French General fabrics from an early collection.
I made a lot of Schnibbles patterns with red, white, and blue fabrics…they are usually a perfect wall hanging or table topper size, so they can be used in several different ways and places in decorating. First up in Schnibbles collection is “Ric Rac”…one of my favorites.
Another Schnibbles design, “Tagalong” also made with Minick & Simpson fabrics…
This one is probably my favorite Schnibbles ever…it’s called “Good Fortune.” There is just something about that narrow sashing that really makes this quilt (Minick & Simpson again)!
This is another quilt I pieced with French General fabrics. It’s also another Schnibbles pattern called “Mon Ami.”
This is another Schnibbles pattern called “Roadshow.” Minick & Simpson fabrics again for the win!
I always bring out my red and cream quilt, “Tribute,” at this time of year, too! You can find this pattern in my Etsy shop in paper and PDF versions. I pieced it from Minick & Simpson fabrics.
This one was an early Fat Quarter Shop block of the month…but I pieced it using scraps from a variety of Minick & Simpson fabrics. This is something I have done a lot of when making block of the month projects–I’ll make two quilts at the same time using two completely different fabric collections!
My latest red, white, and blue quilt (with some lovely touches of yellow) is my Hometown Layer Cake quilt (patterns available in paper and PDF in my Etsy shop)! You can also see a full post on this quilt here.
This table runner was made with three orphan blocks I pieced when teaching a class…I added sashing and a simple border and had myself a new runner in no time! And…you’ve guessed it…Minick & Simpson fabrics once again!
This table runner is from my book A Quilting Life…some favorite early Minick & Simpson fabrics.
A few of the quilts are on the ladder already…and I’m placing the smaller quilts on tables throughout the house. One thing I realized while decorating this year was that I really don’t have any red, white, and blue pillows. I’ll be fixing that situation soon!
I’m including a Pinterest image below you can use to come back to this post…and I’ll be adding my latest project in as soon as it’s finished up later this week!
Hope you enjoyed my favorite red, white and blue quilts…thanks so much for stopping by!

I love reading and looking at your blogs and I am getting ready to make the nested churn dash quilt. Do you happen to remember the name or maker of the fabric in that quilt that has the little sand buckets in the fabric??? It is a darling fabric and would love to add something like that in mine. Thanks so much. Ginger
